Thank you for explaining that Dano.

Re: Email got changed in my profile at GroupsIO webpage

You can setup an email alias on your account which allows email to be received and processed as though it was received from your account email address.??
On your Account Login page ->?Advanced Settings For Email Aliases

Re: Member Added Repeatedly #membership

I think that's the problem.? As long as she's a member of the Slack team, she'll be added back if you use the Member Sync integration with Slack.

Thanks for your reply.

How would I ask to have the photos resized? Would that be in the email I send when asking to transfer my group?

Thanks

Joe?

This member keeps getting added every time she's removed. Rather than remove her yet again, I've set her to NO emails.??

The problem seems to be associated with Slack, but I don't know enough about it to understand the errors. This is the log....

No, they are members in the new group when transfered.

Re: Transferred Members Receive and Send Emails #transfer

And about passwords - as Dano said, these are not transferred.
Group Help tells them how to get a password -?

I Have Forgotten My Password/I Don't Have A Password
To log in without a password, go to the login page and click the 'Email me a link to log in' button. Once you enter your email address, you'll immediately be sent an email with a link that will automatically log you into Groups.io. You will stay logged in for up to 30 days, unless you log out. You can then set a password if you wish, or you can continue to utilize the Email me a link to log in function to log in when needed.

However, the member can also create a new password right away, after logging in. Go to the top right corner - click on their name - and Account. Change the password there.

Of course, the member can send or receive email without going to your group home.

Anyone else experiencing missing digests?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I have been in contact with Mark, but he was not able to find anything definitive so far. I am seeing missing digests-example- digest 1, 3, 5, 6,8,10 are delivered¡no pattern¡but definitely missing messages, even checked that perhaps it was just the numbering, but no, the messages are definitely missing from the digest delivery.

?

This could be a serious problem for my group.

?

Thanks for any insights,

No, transferred members just need to send messages to the new group email address and not the old address. Transferred members are already part of the group and as long as they send from the email address they joined with, the system sees them as members. When the transfer occurs, members are transferred with the same posting privileges they had at Y! Unmoderated members can still post freely and those that were on moderation at Y! will still be moderated. As I recall from a discussion a couple days ago, the exception to this is that banned members are not transferred, as they are not group members. If I'm not accurate on this, I trust someone will correct this.

Those that wish to change their email address need to first log onto the web page with the email address the groups knows them as, and without a password. The scrapers have no way of discerning passwords on Y! After they are logged in they can then change their address.

Re: PhotoTransfer

When transferring the photos from a yahoo group, will those
photos automatically be resized to the settings of the
Groups.IO group?
If the owner requests it, they can be resampled down to a maximum size. Or they can be left the original size if the owner prefers that and if they don't exceed the storage allotted. I opted to take two of my groups to premium, partly for the added storage space and partly for the additional abilities of the groups.io owner.

Transferred Members Receive and Send Emails #transfer

When new people join a group they need to join by submitting their email address and a password, then when allowed into the group they can send emails.

When a newly Transferred member is in the Members List of their group do they also have to submit their email address and a password to email their group? I figure they have to sign in using their email address and password if they want to enter their group site, and also for Invited people to the group.

When transferring the photos from a yahoo group, will those photos automatically be resized to the settings of the Groups.IO group?

Thanks

There has been some discussion and requests for this on beta@, and (and possibly others.)? Both are now moderated, but you can still add comments if they're approved.? I don't see anything about it on yet, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Mark isn't aware/working on it.

What is a subgroup

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hello again,

Another basic question - what is a subgroup and what are pros/cons vs having a totally separate group?? I do have a couple groups that are somewhat related, so I wonder if it might be better to set up as a subgroup going forward.

Thanks,

Barb

Re: Email got changed in my profile at GroupsIO webpage

Thank you, I was able to do that.? Is there some way simply to have a secondary email on my primary account, I don't want a separate one for the Gmail account.? Thanks again!
Barb

Re: Email got changed in my profile at GroupsIO webpage

It sounds to me like you need to log out of the 2nd account and sign in with the first.? Click on your name in the upper right corner on the blue bar and select Logout, then select Login and use the 1st account.
