Re: Transferring a YahooGroup of 14,500 members
J is correct here. Messages will not be deleted. In fact, while my archives were being transferred, some members posted new messages, and those fell into the number order of messages being

Re: Transferring a YahooGroup of 14,500 members
When I transferred my group, messages on the new group were retained. What was lost was the chronological ordering by message number. So the messages by number started with the new messages on the new

Re: Transferring a YahooGroup of 14,500 members
Hi Lena and all, I think a better approach would be to transfer everything and then transfer the last few messages in a batch. I raised a suggestion to that effect on the beta group, but I haven't

Re: Yahoo groups
Facebook has a huge problem in that you can't go back and find anything. It's not designed for the retention of information. It's designed to be a short-term social media that just comes and is gone.

They're not logged, only sent to you if you use Bcc: It's been discussed in several threads on beta@ and is on the TODO list. It will probably come as part of the Notifications Overhaul, but may be

can't find log of owner messages to a member - where are they logged?
Does anyone know where a "send message" owner message to a group member is logged? A couple of them I sent yesterday are not in "owner messages," they're not in the group message activity or moderator

Noel, I meant public in the stricter sense that anyone can read the messages, without joining. I don't know whether the DMCA (or a lawyer arguing about it) considers those effectively the same. Which
