You can point your friend to the current pricing here:?/static/compare?

Note the statement and link at the top about new pricing effective January 18, 2021.

As of today, they're the same as they've been since August 24, 2020.? You can read about the new plans that will be effective on January 18, 2021 at ? There's also the comparison page at /static/compare? And a file of the various changes at /g/GroupManagersForum/files/Groups.io%20features%20%28includes%20legacy%20stuff%29.pdf? (The file will be updated when the new changes go into effect.)

Re: Determining active members (and removing the inactive)xxxx

Ok I haven't had to wonder about this but someone just emailed me mad as a hornets nest. He was one that creates groups then gets mad and deletes them. So after a few months he has decided to create a new IO group. He was so mad because they wanted money.and his group would only be like 15 people and they are singling him out. Yeah I know? I bet some even know who I am talking about . But anyway mi ne are all grandfathered in and dont have to pay so? what are the rules now?? Just to create a group be it one or 1000 now you pay to have it? How much is it? I told him I would check it out for him but that I assumed because Yahoo shut groups down IO website started the pay for service??

Keep in mind that nothing changes for existing groups, it will only apply to those created after the change.? I do agree that it's a good idea to check on members now and then though.

Don't quote me on that.? :-)

Also, what does the Confirmation message include.

There's an example in the Files area here in GMF.

It only applies to new members, not current ones.? And yes, anyone can change it to whatever they want.

Group Default Subscription Settings

I just realized we could set default subscription settings for the group for email delivery fo all to go to Summary email.
I assume that an individual member can change it to another option in their own subscription setting.?
We've recently brought a large number of new members on board who are default set to individual messages.
If I change the default to Daily Summary, will it change everyone now??
Will it over ride those who have changed their subsctipyion settings to a different digest, no mail, etc.?

Thank you!

Re: Changing Members Email address

Edited

If you have a premium or enterprise Group Plan, you can change a member's email address for them. (Not the free month trial premium).

Otherwise members must change it themselves. You can send them the instructions - direct them to 3.4.2
/hc/membersmanual/Groups.io_Members_Manual.pdf

Or this page of the GMF wiki -?

Many thanks, Bruce.
I'll disable No Mail and send a Special Notice with an unsubscribe link.

Plain text (UTF-8), one address per line. See?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/inviting-people-to-join-a-group/sending-invitations-to-join-the-group

In the past we've had people try rich text, CSV, Word, PDF or Excel. None of them will work.

Re: Premium Support Response Time?

I can only speak of my experience with support as an owner of a premium group, and it has been good. As I remember, after sending and email to support of a problem I was having, I would get an email back from support in a day or so acknowledging my email. When support solved the problem they would send me another email telling me the problem had been fixed, and that email was usually within a week after receiving their acknowledgement email.

Still seeing problems on calendar times #bug

Mdivine

The event times are off in the one view but event times are correctly entered and correct on calendar.

Settings for both Group and Account are set to AZ time.?
Calendar shows time correct
Feed view list at bottom that shows upcoming events is off by an hour.

I recall others posting about times on events being incorrect but others were more random. And thought it was posted as resolved.
Anyone else in AZ with problems? Since time zone is a bit different for daylight savings time.
Deleting all events again, so do not have confusion for members.

#messages Confirmation message response meaning? #messages

A potential new member applied by web to join our group and the usual automatic message was sent.

however, when looking at the Email delivery history, I saw this: -?¡°Message ?Confirmation message ?Attempted14:10?Response165.160.13.20: dial tcp4 165.160.13.20:25: i/o timeout¡±

What does it mean? Please will someone enlighten me. Also, what does the Confirmation message include.

Many thanks?

That is why I disabled "No Email" in my groups. They still can limit email to digest or summary. But i see if they bounce.
Unless they change it to Special Notices Only and you don't send any.? Their email address could go bad for some reason, but you wouldn't know it.? They could also forget to change that back.
I covered this "loophole" by sending the group guidelines every month as a special notice. So, I will see the bounce.
