You can instead select your personal email address by pulling down the From: menu in the message composition page before sending. If you want a copy of what you sent, be sure to BCC yourself...it is not stored anywhere in the system. Responses to the +owner address will come back to the group and are stored in the "+Owner Messages" section of each individual's membership record: +Owner messages from non-members will not be forwarded to your personal email address unless you have the "All Emails" radio button selected in your own Subscription: Hope this helps, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |

I've been doing the same, but I do see that the "from" address in these emails is the group owner's address ([email protected]). If you are the group owner, and they reply to said message, you should be getting a reply sent to your personal email address (the address you used when you started the group).?? So far I've only used that "send email" twice, and both times I have not received a reply.? I did check on our old group's member list, and both times, they did not appear on it.

Re: New groups.io pricing structure
Sandi D.
I replied to Mark's post on the pricing in the Beta Main forum.
NPs with smaller numbers of members can make a significant difference.? Many 501c3/NPs have less members than the Enterprise level is created for. All of my groups are well below the 400 member level. Some are barely over 100 people but the Premuim features would be useful to have. Just not at the current model of NP pricing. Especially if I as one person have to pay an Enterprise discount for each and every GIO NP group I create with each GIO group having less than 150 members.? The point I tried to make in the other form is that, yes, smaller member NPs like ours can hang out in the free group, but it's not like we expect something for free. Well yes, some do, but I suspect a significant number are able to pay or want to pay something. After all we are in the business of charity and recognize the costs of overhead to do business. In my case, my "small" 501c3 groups on GIO cannot afford the Enterprise level, even with a NP discount.? If Mark were to offer all his paid levels a NP discount, he will potentially pick up some more money. Right now the only choice for them is Free or Enterprise. Nothing in between. I have posted before, $10 a month is affordable to some of my NPs but $20 a month breaks our budget.? I also like the idea of those who have suggested to Mark a donation button. I for one, would make donations on behalf of my free groups. I do understand the "upgrade button solution" but I don't want to deal with upgrading and then downgrading and experiencing features changes that differ because of the dates that my different groups were created. -- Sandi Dickenson |

Hi David, Members will not be unknowingly removed. As indicated in the message sent to you, they receive an email telling them why they¡¯ve been removed and instructions to rejoin the group. Best, |

Thank you for the article ¡ª I see the icons for encrypted but had noYour message wasn't encrypted (thank goodness), but the digital signature uses similar technology. Thunderbird marks your messages with a button I'd not seen (or at least not noticed) before, labeled S/MIME (secure-MIME). It has a warning badge on it and clicking it tells me that your signature is self-issued and that I don't trust it. Gmail's web interface, on the other hand, does not mark your message as having an attachment, or anything else of interest. Nor does its Android mobile app. I¡¯ve been using mail for 20+ years but they do keep adding things.Yup. There's been a long path from the relative simplicity of RFC 882 (the first post-ARPA internet email standard, in 1982) to today's RFC 5322 and the update to it (and all the "companion" standards defining things like MIME). There was a push many years ago to make signatures and optional encryption a standard part of emails, but it never gained traction. It is interesting (to me) that Apple is now pursuing it so strongly as to (apparently) add it to a user's experience without notice or explanation. Member reported an email as spam?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGood Day! ? I am new to Groups.io, and received a message that a member of one of my groups reported an email as spam: >> This is to notify you that xxx@... has been unsubscribed from your group [email protected] because message <subject>was marked as spam. Note that this may have been done by their email service provider, not by the individual member personally. They've been given a link that lets them quickly resubscribe, in case this was an error.<< So, is that the way this works?? If anyone marks a message as spam they automatically get unsubscribed? I notice it says their ISP may have done this automatically without their knowledge¡.and just like that, they are removed? Is there a way of making sure that they are not unknowingly being removed? Thanks for your help! David ? ? |

How to modify my group Guidelines?
At my new group I own at??I have my first draft of the group Guidelines.
I wrote it and it shows last edit two days ago?but am not sure how it got planted in there... whether I installed it, or one?of my assistant Moderators did.
?
Anyway, I wanted just now to edit it.
Went there and it doesn't implement me directly typing into the visible text.
So I clicked on the icon just about the text .... Guidelines ....
hoping that would flip me into an edit-and-save mode.
But that?took me to ?? (which may turn out to be an interesting feature of our site) offering to let me create a wiki document.
?
So I still don't see how to modify/edit the existing Guidelines document.
?
Any ideas?
?

Determining active members (and removing the inactive)
I'm co-manager of a group with over 1100 members. Many members (hundreds) have not specified email delivery and we suspect that many are not aware of their membership.
Is it possible to send a bulk query email to all members that have Delivery = "No Email"? Another criteria would exclude anyone who has logged into the site recently (i.e. based on a login timestamp). I'm aware of Bulk Remove for doing the removal - I just need a way to create the list of email addresses. Thanks! -Terry |
