I am willing to try manually. Do you know where I can find info on how to do that? e.g. is it possible to export archives as Mbox format or something? I do know how to export the member list at least.

If you search for groups in group.io for ROOTSWEB there are a number. Most List Owners are adding the word ROOTSWEB somewhere in their group description. Rootsweb does not allow transfer of archives
