Re: Topic duration?
Ah yes; in fact I referred to that particular setting in my post above, and my point stands. The default is with that box *unchecked* and the time interval set to "0" so I think my puzzlement (and

Re: Topic duration?
So that's the source of the confusion...the pre-populated number. The "default" is actually no locking at all. I have my main group set up to lock after 60 days, but that's really rather arbitrary.

Chris, Look in Admin>Settings etc and you should find this towards the bottom of this screen grab - assuming you are either an Owner or a Moderator! -- Peter

Re: 'show quoted text' vs showing quoted text
There are some fine points of the site that only function well if you have a mouse cursor. Although you can still get around, in that sense it is not totally mobile-friendly; and as Duane said I

Are you in portrait or landscape mode?? The site uses responsive programming and will adjust what you can see at any time based on the size of the display.? I've found that landscape tends to show

Re: Subscribing to Groups via Website
It's in Admin>Promote. You can do a share via the same page, but social *logins* can only be done via groups.io's own login page at /login Select checkboxes in the "Form Options"

Subscribing to Groups via Website
I noticed there was an area to copy HTML code to allow your members to join via a website (and by a social login), where is that? I can't seem to find the instructions for that. Thanks, Dakotta >

Re: 'show quoted text' vs showing quoted text
Selective quoting is not apparent to all users. Maybe figuring out how to do it depends mostly on the user's system and experience. For example, on my iPad, I don't have access to all the formatting

Re: 'show quoted text' vs showing quoted text
Thanks Duane. So the issue is understanding the behavior of the GIO algorithms. I'll see if I can find a pattern in the examples I've seen.

Re: 'show quoted text' vs showing quoted text
Thanks Chris, I certainly agree with selective quoting, and I wish more people would use it. But when they don't, and the whole thread is quoted in the email, I think 'Show quoted text' is what should

So, I've experimented... If I comment out line 218 the import appears to work OK! The From line is not rewritten. But is it necessary for it to be rewritten? I stopped the import after two messages.
