Have a look at each subgroup in turn and look at (a) Admin > Settings > Message Formatting > Attachments and check that it isn't set to Strip and (b) Admin > Settings > Default Sub Settings > Max Attachment Size and check that it isn't set to "O (no attachments)"

Are you over quota? Go to those subgroups and check Admin>Usage.

Attachments are not being delivered with messages on some of my subgroups. The attachment setting on all my subgroups is to allow attachments.

Thank you for all the responses. I can¡¯t test this but am asking ¡ª I have this setting in all the subgroups. However since I am a member of all the subgroups, I only see the heading ¡°subgroups you belong to¡±. Since I am the owner of all the subgroups, I see all of them.

Do people who are members of only a few subgroups see another heading such as ¡°subgroups available¡± or ¡°subgroups you are not a member of¡±?

To check this myself I have to transfer ownership and don¡¯t have time to do that right now.

I can see subgroups from Your Subscriptions. (Your Groups).

Also in Feed. Click on Groups.io (top left) when logged in. Feed comes first.?
Your Groups comes second (default view from Your Groups, Manage your subscriptions (bottom of the list.)

List of available subgroups

Subgroups used to be listed on the homepage of the main group. They aren¡¯t now. The only view is to see the subgroups you belong to.

Is there any view that has all the subgroups visible?

trouble with active member notices #membernotices

Anyone else having trouble with their member notices?? I'm the owner of 3 groups and for some reason on all 3 I'm having trouble getting the member notices to make sense. If i change one (such as welcome) it seems to apply the changes to the others (such as goodbye etc). Now I've got no member notices and when i try to Add it just doesn't stick. This trouble seems to have started in the last month or so. Any suggestions?? Many thanks, Barb

Re: Unable to reply to just the sender

I think Bruce is right, it's weird.? I'm on one .io group on both yahoo mail and gmail.? When I click reply to sender in yahoo, it works, the sender's name goes in the to box like it's supposed to.? but not on gmail.? But on yahoo group? posts, it worked in gmail.? so who knows.

FP -- As I mentioned to Terri, this depends completely on your local settings, and is not in groups.io's control.

I am logged in. I am in GMF. I click on Reply to your email. I type my reply.
Then I scroll down and choose the green Reply to Group or click on Private (white button, bottom right) to send just to the author.

If you don't see the Private button below the text box (for writing), then you don't have your group set up to allow replies to the sender. (I think someone mentioned this earlier.)

Go to Admin, Settings, scroll down to Message Policies. Untick
Remove Other Reply Options
Removes links on the website and digest to reply options other than your selected Reply To option.

I won't tackle reply from your email. I use the footers. Sometimes I click on Reply in my Apple Mail program. It goes to the right place - the group.

Terri -- That's very peculiar. I have no explanation, other than to say that doesn't happen here.

What should occur is that the button at lower left (which is used to actually send the reply) toggles between a green "Reply to Group" button and a blue "Reply to Sender" button with each click of the "Private" button.

As for posts in emails, reply to sender opens a new window, instead of just putting sender's name in to box.? Is this me or the way it's set up?
The footer reply link is a fairly straightforward mailto:. Whether such a link opens in a new window depends on the settings of your PC/email client.

If I click on reply, it replies to the whole group.
If I click on the stack of bars to the right of that, then click on reply to sender, it still replies to all.
Have I missed a setting in the group or not understanding how to reply?

Thank you! We are loving new platform.

Look in the MESSAGE FOOTER. Is there a "reply to sender" link there? If so, use that.

If not, your group settings are wrong. Go fix them according to the instructions that I already provided.

Wayne -- "Reply to Group" is no doubt the reply-to setting of the group. This is the default when setting up a new group.

If I click on the stack of bars to the right of that, then click on reply to sender, it still replies to all.
I'm struggling to make sense of this one. Are you talking about your own email client? If so, you didn't tell us what software you are using.

Have I missed a setting in the group or not understanding how to reply?
Online instructions:? Just click Reply, then look for a "Private" button at the bottom right of the editor window. Click on that button to toggle between "reply to group" and "reply to sender." It may appear to be "greyed out" and inactive, but it works.

Email Client Instructions: Click on the "reply to sender" button in the message footer, or simply Forward the message to the sender's email address instead of using the Reply function.

If this button (or footer link) does not appear at all, go to Admin>Settings>Messages Policies and UNcheck the box that says "Remove Other Reply Options." Be sure to save your changes. At that point the footer link should begin to show up on any subsequent group messages you receive.

Hope this helps,
Bruce
