Re: Resend pending member notice after pending time expired

How can I re-send the pending notice to the person -- if they are no longer listed in our pending member list?Go to Admin > Activity, and search on Applied for Membership. This will bring up all those who made applications, and as far as I can tell the list includes those who for whatever reason did not progress to actually becoiming members. This is where it might become tricky; to the best of my knowledge (and I am prepared to be wrong about this) there is no way of emailing anyone who didn't progress to membership from your +owner email address and no way of resending a Pending Membership notice to them without (a) having to use your own email address and (b) copying & pasting a copy of the Pending Membership message into it. I can see that (a) might be something you are reluctant to to. As an aside, I am not 100% convinced that Pending Membership notices always get sent; I know of a small number of instances where prospective members deny receiving them. The other side of the same coin is that some applicants do not respond even when pending membership notices are resent within the window before applications lapse.. Chris |
Deleting Photos in the "Emailed Photos" Folder
Bill
My group has many photo albums or photos and in each one, as an owner, I have the ability to delete individual images or the entire folder.? However, in the emailed photos folder, I can only delete individual images, a task that is very time consuming since there are many photos in there that are no longer relevant.? Can an option be included that allows the mass deletion of photos in this folder.
Thanks, Bill |
Photo albums image sizes
#photos
Really like the platform and am considering a paid subscription after evaluation! I apologize if this is a question already asked by another member.
The uploaded photo sizing in the photo albums seem to be rendered the same regardless of aspect ratio. Smaller photos are stretched/distorted to fit the frame, especially in the carousel feature. I have found no way to control this. Tried adjusting the Max Size In Photos Section in the admin settings, to no avail. It would be nice if the original photo size for smaller images would render as-is within the frame. Hope this makes sense. Maybe this is an enhanced feature in a paid subscription? |
Promote to Moderator Roadblock
Following the instructions on how to promote [email protected] to moderator status, I click on the [email protected] name in the member list and get the pop up menu listing it's role as member. However, there is no way to upgrade it's status. Only the posting status and message delivery attributes have pull down menus.

Payment Problems
After my "Card Declined" issue was mitigated by Mark on the 27th I proceeded to purchase the upgrade to premium for my group. I did not get the previous "Card Declined" response so I took that to mean it went through. I then went through the steps to transfer four Yahoo groups to their associated GIO subgroups, all the while getting messages in the upper box that indicated premium group status.
But now, after all four transfers have progressed to "invites accepted", the messages says must upgrade to proceed. It appears for some reason that the upgrade again did not go through. If I start from the parent page I get the "create group" page. I do not want to crate a new group. I can click of a transfer link and get the $220 payment page but it is for a subgroup and I do not know that an upgrade at that point would apply to the parent group. What do I do now? Do I have to cancel all the transfers and start over? If so, will the GIO system remember/recognize that it is already a member of the Yahoo groups? Namaste', Art |
Resend pending member notice after pending time expired
#membernotices
Our group is set up with pending membership notice to be sent and replied to, before admitting new member.? Several weeks ago a new member applied and didn't respond to the pending notice.? I failed to notice this until after the pending membership expired.? How can I re-send the pending notice to the person -- if they are no longer listed in our pending member list?? I don't want to invite them.

Re: quoted text not included in digests
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIsis,Is this a bug, or deliberate? As Duane said, eliding bottom quotes is deliberate. Not detecting interspersed original content is a bug. The same thing should be occurring in your group's Messages section, but instead of deleted the bottom quotes are hidden under a button to show them. You can cite one or more such to [email protected] to see if Mark can figure out why those weren't properly identified. Possibly your members aren't breaking the blockquote in the message? That is, are their comments indented the same as the quote? Here's an example that works in my digest: A screen shot of what the message looks like in individual mail as well as in digest (or in the messages section) would help to understand what difficulty your group may be having. Re: quoted text not included in digests
Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly it did not work for us. I got a digest with two blank emails and one email that just said 'See comments inline'
Well, this is the first time I'm really having a problem with how something functions in Groups.io. A digest that doesn't include quoted text is just not functional. Some people have a strong preference for replying inline, and are not likely to remember doing otherwise, just to communicate with a Gio list. And sometimes there are conversations across lists and across platforms, where this kind of limitation is going to just break the entire thread. Is this a bug, or deliberate? I don't think it's the greatest time to bring this up now, in the midst of the massive Yahoo exodus, but what's the best way to address this with Mark, et al? I depend on digests to keep me from getting totally overloaded with list mail, so getting incomplete digests is a pretty big deal breaker for me. Isis |

Re: Emails response from groups.io not working
Earl,
When I send an email to the +owner, +help, I get no response. IMessages to the +owner address are forwarded to each moderator / owner's email address, subject to a control in their Subscription page. +owner messages, if from a member, are also delivered to the +owner tab of the member's page in the Members list. +owner messages from non-members are not stored on the site. Messages to the +help address are handled by an auto-responder. They are not stored on site or forwarded. Re: Managers Forum - My Topic
Scott,
Here is a stupid question. How do I find my topics or topics I haveThere is a search option. For example, Click the Search button near the top of Messages (or Topics) and in the search box enter posterid:129 and you'll find all of my posts. You can find anyone's posterid number by looking in the More menu under a message that person posted. Select the "All Messages By This Member" item and that will perform a search on that person's posterid. If the group makes the Directory available to members, and if both you and the target person have made their Profile visible to members, you can find the "All Messages By This Member" link on their profile. Moving folders between 'main' and sub-groups
Martin Best
I had 8 Yahoo groups that I merged into one "super-group" for transfer to Groups.io, where I was able to form corresponding sub-groups.
In merging the Yahoo groups, I needed to upload over 350 files to the super-group Files for transfer. Now I would like to move the folders down from 'main' to each new sub-group but I can't find how to do this (if it is possible). Clicking on Move in 'Main' shows the structure of 'main' but none of the sub-groups. I have used Search and checked Wiki but cannot see that this question has been addressed anywhere, except that it didn't seem to be possible to move Photo albums. I don't want to have to upload 350+ files again. Can anybody advise me, please?. |
Re: Managers Forum - My Topic
Frances, OK that works. Thank you. Now another question. Is there anyway I can "pin" myself in the directory so I don't have to search for myself in the directory? Thanks.?I don't know about pinning yourself ?I did find your posterID - sent it to you (but I don't remember how I found it!)?That is searchable in the search box. Re: Pricing for transfering YahooGroups to groups.io
Hi Rubens,
How much does it cost for a premium group?
The cost is $220 USD per year for the Premium Yearly plan (effective 2019-10-22). This allows you to use the groups.io transfer agent. You can change the group back to the Basic plan after the year if you wish.
?
Can I transfer a Yahoo Group into a Subgroup?
Yes. Upgrading your Primary Group to the Premium Yearly plan covers your subgroups as well. No extra fee to transfer YG into subgroups.?
?
Can I transfer more than one Yahoo Group into one Groups.io group?
Yes. The Premium Yearly plan allows multiple Yahoo Groups to be transferred to your Primary group and/or its subgroups. Be sure to transfer one at a time to avoid problems.
?
If you transfer more than one Yahoo Group into the same Primary or Subgroup the additional content appends to what's already been transferred. Any members already present in the Groups.io group will not be transferred again by later transfers.
