Re: Acceptance time frame for [email protected] account #transfer

Stay cool.

As soon as Step 2 is completed yahoo is out of the game. Then your group data is on the group.io servers, it is only a question of time till the data is imported.

You have to be patient. This is the status of the two groups I'm waiting for:

1.: Your group is awaiting import into Groups.io. There are about 714 groups ahead of it in the queue. [Step 3 of 4]

2.: Your group is being exported from Yahoo right now. [Step 2 of 4]

So, I'm a little bit nervous till the second group is also on step 3 of 4....

They fokus on exporting from yahoo, because nobody knows how long the yahoo server are rachable right now.

My current status (unrelated to Mark's above). I think my export from Yahoo happened overnight (Sat26 into Sunday27).

10/27: Your group is awaiting import into Groups.io. There are about 527 groups ahead of it in the queue. [Step 3 of 4]
10/28: Your group is awaiting import into Groups.io. There are about 506 groups ahead of it in the queue. [Step 3 of 4]
10/29: Your group is awaiting import into Groups.io. There are about 487 groups ahead of it in the queue. [Step 3 of 4]

See Admin > Settings > (scroll down) > Message Formatting > Attachments. There is a drop down arrow at the right of the box that enables different settings for attachments, one of which is "Strip"... which is the same thing as "don't allow in the first place" when sending from the web UI.

Can't Attach Images In Posts #photos #images #notworking

Hi All,

Quick question - how do you verify HTML is working right, etc, when posting images via the website? I am a member of several groups, one of which I own, my preferences are all set to HTML and in the other groups I can see the attach image button on the HTML toolbar. On my own group that is not there and I cannot see any value in settings for the group that relates to disabling attachments for posts? I'm presuming there is a setting somewhere that impacts this that I have missed in my group's settings? Couldn't find anything on the help page or searching posts (other than making sure you had HTML option enabled for toolbar)

Many TIA,

John

Re: Easy Group Transfer - Problem with Moderator Assignment in Yahoo #transfer #moderation #owner #yahoo

Thanks.? I'm going to try and do this.? I do not want to transfer everything manually.

Re: Easy Group Transfer - Problem with Moderator Assignment in Yahoo #transfer #moderation #owner #yahoo

Robert,

When I place a mouse over the green crown is says that I'm an owner.
I forgot about that. Yes, that's one of the mistakes in the "Neo" re-design of 2013, they put the wrong tool-tip on the green crown.

Robert,

It turns out that the spouse of the deceased owner may be able to go
in and modify my privileges or at least make [email protected]
a moderator. In your opinion, is that all she would need to do?
Yes, either one. Or make you an owner.

The transfer agent does not need any privileges, so she can leave those checkboxes blank. The only thing needed is to change the Role setting to Moderator. Then scroll to the bottom to save the change.

Nope, not at all.

Checked it this minute again with Firefox on Android 9.1 .

Also no problems with the emails, I'm using BlueMail and K-9 Mail.

Re: Easy Group Transfer - Problem with Moderator Assignment in Yahoo #transfer #moderation #owner #yahoo

I am a moderator of an "orphan" yahoogroup where the owner went missing years ago.? However, on all six of the yahoogroups I own OR moderate, blue and green crowns both now show as "owner," and I have had no problems with the orphan group getting moved.

Yahoogroups is very glitchy right now, perhaps because of all the data being moved, but just because something isn't working today doesn't mean it may not be working tomorrow.? For several days I could not make someone else an owner of one group (even though I was an owner), but after a few days the function started working again.? So keep trying.

Re: Help with transfer - HELP!!!!!!!!

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Kevin,

I am trying to remember this from when I transferred my group over.? If I remember right you have to add [email protected] as a member to your Yahoo group.? After that is done, then you have to make them a moderator.

HOW DO I DO THIS???

Before we can being the transfer, you must make the [email protected] user a moderator of your group. If you already have done so, please click the 'Give Go Ahead To Transfer' button again, as Yahoo can be flaky.

Re: Help with transfer - HELP!!!!!!!!

Once ¡°[email protected]¡± is a member, go to ¡°manage members¡± in Yahoo Groups. ?Select the "[email protected]¡± member by clicking on it and then in the ¡°edit member¡± pop-up change role from ¡°member¡± to moderator. ?You have to have permissions in your group to designate moderators.

I have submitted a bug report on this today. Currently users can create new hashtags via email even if the group is set to only Moderators can create. FYI

Re: Easy Group Transfer - Problem with Moderator Assignment in Yahoo #transfer #moderation #owner #yahoo

The original owner said he made me an owner not moderator.? When I place a mouse over the green crown is says that I'm an owner.? But I was told blue supercedes green so you are probably right.? In this case, this group has no owner.?
