I still do not see transfer listed as member in my group
Its been a few days now and I still do not see any activity for transferring my group.? See attached picture. I assume the message means that somehow I am in some sort of waiting line? I do not see where everyone has talked about a que, where is that located? We paid the $220 to get this processed and here I sit, just plain worried that something is wrong, no one is contacting me and I dont know if I did something wrong. I am worried that I threw away money I dont really have on this! Please someone tell me how to find out the progress. I keep checking yahoo group to see if member was added but nothing. I cannot make transfer a moderator if they dont actually? join and I have sent lots of invites already. I am list owner and moderator for the yahoo group, I would do this task my own damn self if I could even find out how. There was mention of downloads yet I dont see any option to do that. Help please!

Re: #transfer User does not want to be invited
#transfer
TC Woodward, When trying to invite [email protected] to my Yahoo! group, I get the error message "User does not want to be invited.¡± Is this an error on my part? No. If we're lucky it is a temporary glitch at Yahoo. I was just able to issue an Invitation to one of my email addresses from one of my groups, so it isn't a complete failure of the mechanism. If we're less lucky it is an error on Mark's part. There's a subscription control at Yahoo Groups, or used to be, whereby a user could decline to accept invitations. That's the message that results. If we're unlucky Yahoo has flipped that condition permanently for the transfer agent. Perhaps they noticed its high level of activity. Re: How long does signup take?
?Chuck, Thanks for your quick response Frances, but the answer I'm looking for is just for the initial signup experience. If your Y!Group is ready, and your Groups.io group is set up and ready, the steps to initiate the transfer can be pretty quick.
But as Duane suggested, that's a pretty big "if". See Transfer a group from Yahoo Groups to Groups.io about those preliminary activities.
First session: Go to the transfer instructions page and click Set Up A New Transfer, fill in the Yahoo Group name, Select the Groups.io group from a drop-list, Click Start Group Transfer Process; go to your Yahoo Group's invite page and invite [email protected]. That part takes a few minutes if you already have decided everything. Now you can leave your computer for a while while Yahoo sends the invitation, and Groups.io receives it. Normally this would be nearly instantaneous, but Yahoo seems to be slow at getting the invitations out. I've seen it take 12 hours last weekend, your mileage may vary. Periodically go to the Instructions page, scroll to the bottom, and select your Yahoo Group from the droplist of transfers. Look at the status on that page. You're waiting first for the banner that says that your invitation has been received. If its been more than a day try again. Then you're waiting for the banner that says the invitation has been accepted. Next session: go back to your Yahoo Group, sort the Manage Members list, promote the transfer agent to moderator; go to the transfer instructions page, scroll to the bottom, select your Yahoo Group from the list, click the
Give Go Ahead to Transfer button. Now you can leave your computer again. Right now this is the part that takes considerable time, as your transfer goes through the queues first to copy the data from the Yahoo Group, then to import the data into the Groups.io group. Periodically check your transfer status to see its progress, or wait for the transfer completed email. Re: transfer not progressing
I'm in the same boat.? I've followed the instructions carefully and attempted the transfer three times.? I'm at the point of entering the?[email protected]??to the yahoogroup, then waiting.? I've done this twice, waiting about 12 hours between attempts.? On the third attempt the yahoo page has given me this message:

Invites vs Applying to Join
I had a question and couldn't find it easily by searching. ?We sent out a large number of invitations to our organization's members today to start up discussions on groups.io. ?A small number of those invited members with the same email addresses/accounts are instead finding our groups.io page and hitting apply to join. ?I was surprised that it doesn't automatically recognize their email as an invited member. ?Is there a setting I missed in the invites? ?Or is that just how it works?
Thanks! Linda |

Apparently this is now happening to others, /g/GroupManagersForum/topic/39105930, so probably related to their changes.

Creating a database map view
After searching high and low at groups.io, I'm been unable to find anything on how to create maps.? If someone could point me to instructions or lay out how to do it, I would be most grateful. Why a map in our case?? [email protected] is a Yahoo refugee group composed mostly of Americans who want to live in France or already do.? A map showing where our members live around the world and France would be nice. Yes, we are at the Premium level. Harvey ? J¡¯ai remarqu¨¦ que rien que je n¡¯ai jamais dit m¡¯a fait aucun mal. ? According to the Wiki, I should be able to pre-create a hashtag on the "Hashtags" page in the group, by selecting the "Hashtag" section from the side menu and then clicking a "create new hashtag" button. Unfortunately, I do not see a "create new hashtag" button. It's actually "Create Hashtag," and it's the blue button at the very bottom of the hashtags page. Is this problem occurring for anyone else? Am I missing some permissions from the admin? If you are a Moderator (not an Owner), you must be given the "Create/Delete Hashtags" permission to do this. Bruce |
