Re: [email protected] isn't a member of my Yahoo group
Edward Borg
I'm the owner of my Yahoo group..
I have tried to contact Groups.io support numerous times and they are just ignoring me. Not sure what to do. Someone suggest to delete the transfer request and try to restart it. Just not sure how that works and if that would resolve my issue. Would I be able to re-invite and start over? |

Could you not hjave saved them as MBox message archives then given them to mark to import? This is what i did for my mail man listsome years ago. Take care Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . On 25 Oct 2019, at 15:59, Mike Strange via Groups.Io wrote:

Re: PG Offline users

Yea, seems everything happens to me, I must be some kind of lightning rod.? I was more concerned with getting it down than figure out the bugs.
PGO prompts you just before the 10,000 limit and suggests you stop for a couple of hours so as not to get flagged by YG.? So I did.? These groups have running 50,000 to 75,000 messages in each so you can see how long it took.? Many go back to year 2000 and I never realized how many dead members there were and how many files they had uploaded.? I will get groups.io move all the files and stuff over.? I have copies here that will over the next couple of weeks get cleaned up and weeded out and replace the migration copies.? Also on the groups.io panel you limit the size of the migrated pics.? On the PGO downloaded copies they are the original size.? I am keeping those to go into a photograph server parked someplace else and let the group members access them via another domain name link.? So they will have the downsized copies on groups.io but the full sized ones, some are 3MB each, on a different server.? On YG I copied out all the bouncing members first, then did the mass notice of a change over, checked for the newly flagged bouncing and the types like soft bounce.? Backed that copy up and when the change over is done hit them again.? THEN will manually add all the previous bouncers and do it again.? That will give the final good member addresses and the left overs get put into a storage file.? Who knows what to do with that. Without PGO this would be nearly impossible if not terribly horrible to do. |

I must be lucky, PGO downloaded 7 groups for me a couple of days ago on Win 7 64 bit without a glitch and I have just gone on to again and checked Refresh and it has scanned those groups and added in a small number of new messages.? All the groups have been 'neo-ised' too. Hope you get some better luck with yours. ? |

In addition, the photos, files, and attachments are saved to directories that reside in the same folder as the database.?? Within each of those folders there are folders for each group you download.?? You do have to download the photos and files separately.? The attachments get downloaded with the messages but I have found some glitches in this and I presume this is due to the Yahoo server.? A second try has usually corrected the situation, but I had to delete the group first.? Also for some reason, the links to the messages in the attachments are not working for me, even though the attachment is there in the exact directory the link is pointing to. Migration - New Folders & Files
Hi,
I created a new group and I am waiting for my Yahoo Group to be migrated. Can I upload "New" folders and files to the newly created Groups.io group or will this mess up the migration? Can I manually add members to the new group or will that mess up the migration? Thanks, Scott. |

Re: accidentally changed domain name?
Try going into the subgroup, then use the menu on the left side to look around.? There should be at least one of those that will give some information on the parent group.? I think Subgroups will do that.

You can download all the member's email address's, options etc etc and save it in a data base that can be played with and such.? If you have a free account with groups.io this is the way to move members over real easy.? Just cut and past the information into your members invite panel and bulk send out.? The only thing that you can not do is move over the message data base.? The pictures and files you can yourself.? However the groups.io file and folder panel is rather primitive and not very fast when you have say 2,000 pics to move which I have to do on some accounts.

The messages are on your machine and automatically saved in a database.? Look for this file:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\PG Offline 4\ygroups.db3 where <username> is the username you are logged into your Windows system with. I didn't understand this at first, and exported the messages to an SQL file.? Totally unnecessary.? You can quit PG Offline, and when you restart it, it will re-open the database.? Select the group name in the left pane, then hit the refresh button and you'll see all your messages. Edit: A simpler way to get to the data folder is select Open Data Folder in the File menu.? I then copied that db3 file off to Dropbox to share with another person who had PG Offline.? File/Open can be used to access the file. It's a great little product. Mark |

Messages can be EXPORTED in 4 different file formats.? But you will have to pay the $25 license fee since it is a trial version you down load and install.? You can off load files, folders and links to your computer from the program but are limited to I recall 1,000 messages in the trial version.? Must pay the $25 which when you look at it is a really good deal, considering.
As long as the files were downloaded to your computer, the files are embedded in the program.? Turn computer on or off makes no difference.? Just go back to the program and the files are still there to be accessed by the program. I had to do the learning curve myself and down loaded 7 YG several times to make sure I did it right. No I am not related to PGO, just using it. |

Correct and if YG members are still posting there, you can log in with PGO and it will amend your existing download and and the newest messages to it.? Same with any other files you can download, they will get amended with the latest added to what you already have downloaded.? But that is what is on YOUR computer.? If Groups.io has already downloaded a mirror of your site site and YG members add more posts or what not afterwards, those additional are only on YG.? Any corrections are up to you to fix.? Come the 28th that will no longer be an issue since YG locks out any further information being added to your YG site.

Re: PG Offline users

One other issue I found with YG and PGO, I was unable to get Windows 7 64 bit to run PGO smooth enough to spend nearly 40 hours online downloading all the YG sites.? It kept hanging and locking up, same on several Windows 7 computers.? So I programmed a HP laptop in Windows 10 and used the internal 10 browser, it down loaded smoothly.? Just remember to turn off the sleep mode and power down mode.?
