Exporting the group before changing the name was a wise move! There could be some problems that you haven't run into yet. I will give you an example... When you upload a file, there's an opportunity

I actually don't think that's true at all. I'm pretty sure that even if you use a 'strange' computer, groups.io would still send an email to your registered email address.

Ilene/Sugar -- The above statement is not true. You can change your group name, and all the content (including the messages) will still be there. What happens is that LINKS that you may have created

I have no idea if you will get notification I assume so But the IO pages say that your messages?will not be saved when it goes to a new URL ? Why don't you just open up a New?Group with the name

Chris, Not only pedantry, but IMO flat-out wrong. There's no difference between having logged in using a password versus using a login link by email. They do exactly the same thing: set a login cookie
