Not quite. Some time ago I asked for and got partial matches in the Members list.

Unfortunately not also the Activity log. And that's a PITA.

Messages transfer over time so they may still be loading. A certain amount are transferred at one time. I had the same problem. Mark said still transferring. It happened over 24 hours, I think.

I notice that in addition to a +owner email address at the bottom of messages, there is a +help email address. Who does this go to?

I’m editing the welcome messages of several groups. One is a main group and the others are subgroups. The editing bar appears on the main group’s special notices page but not on the subgroups’. All the lists have the same options set.

I subscribed to one of my lists on Sunday from 4 email addresses so I could get the instructions right for setting up a password on Groups.io.

I didn’t go into the option of not setting up a password but just using the link every 30 days or when you want to go to the website. I don’t know what the advantage of doing this is and too many people would surely ask me. Comments welcome.

SUBSCRIBING AND SETTING UP A PASSWORD IN 3 STEPS

1. JOINING [email protected], the main members list. All members and residents are expected to subscribe to messages from this group in order to follow the business and social life of the community. And to receive any emergency notifications.

This is a restricted membership group, so all requests to join must be approved by a moderator. To subscribe, send a blank email to:

[email protected]

You will receive an email to confirm your request. Reply to the message to confirm that you want to join. Moderators will then receive a message to approve your membership.

2. SENDING MESSAGES: When your subscription to Members is approved, you will receive a welcome message with links for sending messages, etc. The bottom link is "To see and modify all of your groups, go to ”. Click this link to set a password and preferences for your account. This is required so you can visit the [email protected] homepage to join Subgroups, read messages on the website, see files, and use the wiki.

3. SETTING A PASSWORD: At , Click "Log In" in the upper right corner and you will be asked for your email address and password. Since you don’t have a password yet, you have 3 choices (1) Click on “Forgot password or haven’t set one up” OR (2) sign in with your Facebook or Google password.

If you choose “Forgot password or haven’t set one up”, you will be sent an email with a link to log in to your account. You will have 60 minutes to log in. Click on the link and you will be able to up a password and to choose whether you ALSO want to be able to sign in with your Facebook and/or Google passwords.

If you choose to use only a Facebook or Google password, use it to sign in.

In either case you will then be taken to to your account page where you can set your Preferences.

PREFERENCES. On your account page, use the menu on the left to set up other preferences and options. The most important is choose timezone and the format for recent messages (minutes ago, today, yesterday, or dates). You can also use this menu to see any messages that have bounced from your account. (Messages bounce when your mailbox is full or your email is down.)

SUBGROUPS. The various team and pod lists are now Subgroups of the Members group. Once you have joined Members, you can join any Subgroup without further approval. There is a list of the subgroups on the [email protected] homepage.

GROUP AND SUBGROUP SETTINGS. The settings for the Members group and each Subgroup are independent of each other. Members and Subgroups have been set to the same settings as old Yahoo lists but there are many more options. Your group may want to explore these at some point.

I'm the Admin of a Yahoo Group. In the process of transferring the group from Yahoo to Groups.io, I'm asked to send an invite to "[email protected]" email address. The problem is, Yahoo refuses to recognize that email address as it is not a Yahoo mail address. Please advise how to proceed.

You should have been here before Search was improved! ;>)? One of the current limitations is that it can't find partial words.? There was a big discussion about this on beta@ last summer.? This version was introduced in October.? You might ask over there if further changes are planned.

I am somewhat confused by the special notices thing too. I wanted to use it to make sure all the people that have been transferred to groups from yahoo actually knew about it. So I changed all the no email people to special notices, and wrote an email explaining the new situation.

But I have no idea how to send this. I’m obviously missing something.

Alternatively, maybe I’ve messed up the whole list, since there don’t seem to have been any messages sent or received today!

Help would be much appreciated.

I turned my description into plain text, ...
But the description looks just the same, with that 6 letter word
standing out in bold.

In the formatting toolbar of the description, open the Advanced Toolbar (rightmost button, three horizontal lines) and in the advanced toolbar click on the Source code button (rightmost button, <> ).

That will pop up a dialog box with the raw HTML of your description. Look in there for HTML tags (codes, abbreviations, and sometimes long-ish phrases enclosed in < and > ). Most likely that stubborn word will be surrounded some pair of tags that marks it as bold.

Remove all of the tags except <p>, </p>, and <br />. Or, you can just remove them all, but then after you Ok your text will be all run together as a single paragraph and you'll have to put your paragraph and line breaks back in.
