Two most common ones, internet provider don't like it ,OR, the person receiving, assume spam and mark as such,?

I agree it appears odd on the surface, but in fact it makes total sense. By marking a legitimate mailing list message as spam, you've essentially told Yahoo that you don't want receive any more "messages like this." Yahoo in turn informs , who dutifully complies with the request and removes you.
