Re: BASIC vs Premium &"legacy enabled" #pricing

Yahoo group transfer owner here. Transfers done in time to receive "legacy enabled" of files, database, etc. I paid for 2 groups the premium rate of $110. We are non-profit groups with small number of members but files that are important to share. I am the owner/moderator of 4 groups. I have read what I can on this topic but am still confused.

1) invoice is a few days past due on two groups for $110 to stay at Premium. My card was deleted so that an automatic payment was not made.? IF I don't pay the invoice, will it automatically move to BASIC or do I need to downgrade? In other words, what action do I need to take to move the 2 groups to BASIC?
2) several features are mentioned as "legacy enabled" as I created & moved the groups from yahoo before the deadline. Am I assured that the files, database, etc that are marked "legacy enabled" will continue if I switch to free BASIC? We are not approaching the 1G limit.
3) 2 of my groups are already at BASIC but were created a couple of years ago. I did not receive an invoice for those groups as they are free. Will the use of files, database, etc be grandfathered in, for sure? Or will I lose those features? We are not approaching the 1G limit.
4) Could I move to BASIC the groups now that are legacy enabled, and somehow contribute to groups.io & Mark without it being as much as $110/yr or $220 for the two groups. In other words, can I contribute a lessor amount as a donation?

I do believe in contributing to Mark and other's work for groups.io. It is just that 2 Premium memberships is very steep for our non-profit groups.
