It seems like my problem is that the moderator permissions were not property set? But though I found a way to create a moderator; I can find no instructions about how to set moderator permissions.

Responding to Julia's question: after opening the record of the person to be made a moderator, click on the window "Role". It offers three options: Owner, Moderator, and Member. Select moderator. Click "save" at the bottom of the screen after making your selection. Each person can have only one role; the owner has all permissions, the moderator more limited permissions.

Now my question: One of our moderators says he cannot see the Direct
Add button under the Admin button when expanded. All he says he can
see are the following four: Pending / Members / Subgroups /
Activity
...
All his MODERATOR PERMISSIONS ARE checked EXCEPT these five:
Manage Subgroups
Add or Modify Integrations
Modify Group Settings
Billing
Set Moderator Privileges

You said that options for email receipt can be set independently on the subgroups versus main.?

Yes, on a per subscriber basis.

Did you mean that the subscriber/member can do that or that the moderator can do that or that the owner could do that.

All of the above.

An Owner (or Moderator with the "Set Member Subscription Options" permission) can open anyone's member record (Admin>Members) and change message delivery by clicking the appropriate box in the "Email Delivery" block. If you are a Moderator and can't do this, it's because you haven't been given that permission.

Any subscriber can set?their own?email delivery preference it by clicking on Subscription on the left-side menu bar, or by sending one of the email commands listed on the home page ([email protected], etc).

There is no way to keep Subscribers from doing this, so there is no way to enforce a particular message delivery groupwide.
