Re: Antique flute

Wow. I'm sad to hear about your antique Flute. One of my concert flutes is 23 years old, and has been dropped and repaired so many times, I can't even begin to count. The part of the body joint where the foot fits on on my 20 theory year-old Jupiter Flute is bent. it still plays, and that's a good thing, but I prefer my MIO Flute. That's my good one. The other one I keep around as a spare. It's always good to have more than one instrument in your possession, especially if One needs to go in for repair.?

?Hi everyone,
I have to show off this beautiful antique flute.

Made before 1930. That's when Hawkes merged with Boosey.
It's in excellent shape, without cracks, and the mechanism is modern and in almost perfect working order. Sadly, it cannot be restored. It's tuned a half tone sharp and unlike silver flutes, ?wooden flutes cannot be retuned.
It will live out its life as an interesting museum piece.
All the best,
