CORRECTION/Re: Indelicate subject - Red Beets and deficient hydrochloric stomach acid

CORRECTION

The red coloring in stool after ingesting 2 cans of
red beets supposedly indicated insufficiency of
hydrochloric acid which in turn caused or enhanced
cancer.

Sorry - if I misled.

I once read about a purported test for cancer
causing stomach deficiency of hydorchloric acid.
It involved eating canned red beets - juice and all.
If the stool was red this was allegedly evidence
of
insufficient cancer inducing stomach hydrochloric
acid.
I would like to have some comments.

Oh, I sure HOPE that's not the case for me especially since I'm only having one small beet in
my veggie juice each day ... :('

Hi Jerome,

I'm curious about the source of your information. Is it based
on a research study that you could find and link in a message to the
group? I notice that you used the word, "supposedly." It sounds as
though you aren't sure about your statement. Do you recall where you
heard or read this information?

Here's a link to an article by a gastroenterologist at the Mayo Clinic
who says stools of various colors are quite normal.

Other articles that I read when I Googled this topic said that
stools are often the color of the foods we have been eating.
