VERY indelicate bowel question ...

Melissa Buhmeyer

Hey everyone,

Sorry to be so indelicate here, but I'm wondering if tumor shedding can be evidenced by bloody show in the poop? This morning, there was no blood when I wiped, but when I glanced in while flushing, there was some red, swirly stuff coming off the outer edges of my poop. I have had no symptoms of tumor shedding or healing crisis or anything in the three months I've been doing this. Is this something to be concerned about or is this a possible good sign? ;) Keep in mind, my mets are on my large/small intestines (initial one in large intestine wall) and peritoneum.

Hey Melissa,

While I'm no expert, I just want to share something that may be a
simple answer.

Bleeding -- Hemorrhoids can ooze fresh red blood, whether located
externally or internally. External hemorrhoids often cause dripping of
blood from the anus while sitting on the toilet. The blood might also
be seen as soiling of the underwear. Internal hemorrhoids that bleed
may produce fresh blood in the stool.

Here is another point:

"Rectal bleeding (known medically as hematochezia) refers to passage of
bright red blood from the anus, often mixed with stool and/or blood
clots. Most rectal bleeding comes from the colon, rectum, or anus. The
color of the blood during rectal bleeding often depends on the location
of the bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract. Generally, the closer
the bleeding site is to the anus, the blood will be a brighter red.
Thus, bleeding from the anus, rectum, and the sigmoid colon tend to be
bright red, whereas bleeding from the transverse colon and the right
colon (transverse and right colon are several feet away from the anus)
tend to be dark red or maroon colored."

Hope this helps,
Janice

hi Melissa,

Could be beetroot juice, which has that effect also. Check what you
have been drinking, then maybe stop for a day or two, then restart etc
etc.

Hope thats all it is.

Best wishes
Peter

Hi Melissa, When I was lysing (tumor shedding, as you call it) it was the consistency of a frothy egg white. That is the descripion I had always heard and that is exactly what I saw evidence of. Was there any white mixed in with the blood? When you say "swirly stuff", does that by any chance mean frothy? I also noticed about a week or so before the lysing would be evident that I would have a pulling, slightly painful sensation at the tumor site, which was in my neck. I would say I had about three or four bouts of lysing, a few months apart from each other. Keep a close eye on what comes out of you. It's one of the easiest ways of assuring yourself what is happening or not happening inside of you. Many blessings to you!

Melissa,

Have you been eating beets or beet juice? This can cause bloody
looking stools and also reddish urine.

Hmmmmmm ... well, I have been using one small beet in my veggie juice every morning. Do
you think that's enough to do that?

Sigh ... unfortunately, no! :( No frothy stuff at all. The swirling was kind of like if you
dropped ink into water ... the swirling the ink makes is what this looked like, but it was
attached to the poop and kind of swirled away from it.

I guess I might not see much lysing since my big tumor was removed and what was left
were little teensy things ... only about 3mm each ...

My personal experience: I drink beet juice every day with my other
vegetable juice. If I Juice a small beet I see no red in my stool but
if I juice a large beet, especially with beet tops, I see red. It scared
me at first until I found out what was causing it.

I had the exact same experience as Bobby with the red color of a large
beet being noticible in the stools (and urine) and being a little
scared until I realized it was the beets!

THis is also true of my young children, whose diapers used
to turn pink when they ate beets. And they were and are
totally healthy. It just seems to be something that beets do.
