A Note From Flo! - Vanessa

Thanks, Karine.

I haven't actually started the protocol yet. I use flax oil and flaxseeds all
the time but have never eaten cottage cheese. I must admit to finding it
repellant. But I am psyching myself up for it.

I had chemo friday -[ Abraxane -[ and have my hands full just taking care of
my son. . .

I am waiting for the Budwig books to come in teh mail, I actually got one, it
is quite short and not very specific as to HOW to acheive the results. But I
havne't given it a lot of attention. THe cookbook one seems like it will be
more helpful on a practical level.

THanks for your kind thoughts. I think that xeno-[estrogens caused the cancer
and the mammogram angered it and the biopsy spread it. Plus I was not
getting enough sleep.

sleep is a factor here.

Vanessa,
When I read that you got a breast cancer even after you took flaxseed
oil and good omegas when pregnant, it makes me feel sad that taking
flaxseed oil didn't prevent you from it. Why didn't it help? What was
done wrong? I do wish this time flaxseed oil does what we believe it
does for you and speeds up your cure and recovery!

THanks, Harry. I took note of that when I first started reading here. sigh.
ntohging is as easy as it ought to be!
what other sulfurated proteins are there?

I have been eating this way all my life, and my son does too. . . not that
that is good, obviously, in my situation I am humbled on the subject of health.
I just hate to cut flax oil out of my son's diet adn he is allergic to dairy
as are my sister and mother. I get hives too with dairy, but nothing more major
than that. I oculd take a benadryl and do the cottage cheese thing, I guess,
I just feel like htere must be some other source of sulfurated protein.

thank you!!

You are making a BIG mistake taking flaxseed and flaxoil without a
sulfurated protein(cottage cheese). This combo helps break down the FO and
make it bio-available to the body. Even JB herself said taking FO alone can
do way more harm than good.

Well, you could use organic plain yoghurt but as that has less protein than
CC you'd probably need to include more.

Vanessa,

It is my understanding that people who are allergic to cow's milk can
often tolerate goat's milk. Have you ever tried goat's milk? You can
make your own cottage cheese with goat's milk.

There are sulphurated proteins in cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, brussel
sprouts, brocolli etc.) also there is sulphur in the alium family( onions,
garlic, leek, etc) these will deactivate the cancer cells and prevent
further mutations.

Harry, where did JB says that you should not take FO alone? I am pretty sure she suggested the intake with Quark because of a better and faster assimilation in the body, but I can't remember having read that she said it could do harm.
Do U remember which of her books said that?

Thanks, Sybille

Anna,

In case someone should misunderstand your post. Low levels of sulphured proteins are found in many foods. Likewise, the vegetables you mention do contain sulphured proteins but it is very low... it is something like 6% to 15% of the sulphured proteins found in CC. These vegetables are a good food and an additional source of sulphured proteins, but they are not a substitute for Quark or CC in the Budwig Diet.

Wilhelm

Hi Wilhelm,

Am I to understand that Quark is an appropriate substitute for cottage
cheese, but yogurt is not?

Is there any alternative to the above for the milk allergic?

Thank you very much,

vanessa

Thanks, Anna. I crave these vegetables and eat them with generous flax oil
already - my son and i eat brussel sprouts and broccoli every day :) just
makes sense that even if it isn't as potent as actually following the protocol, at
least I'm doign somehting while my chemo-brain figures out what I need to do
to follow the protocol :)

Thank you! I have been meaning to try goat's milk with my son again :)

Vanessa,
I also don't find FO/CC tasty, but I chase them down with pineapples.
It really masks the taste when I bite a pinapple chunk after a spoon
of mixture and I got used to it. May be you could try to trick
yourself? Do you get allergic reaction to dairy?

I also found some websites where it says CoQ10 helps cancer
remission. Here is one website, but you would probably find more if
you gave search

Did JB include any other co-enzymes in this protocol? It seems like
we need a balance of enzymes, hormones, nutrition, mind, spirit,
etc...

When you took flaxoil during pregnancy did you take it in capsules
or freshly made flaxoil from a bottle?
And what do you mean by xenoestrogens? I thought they are banned?

I constantly read about cancer topic wishing I could find the cause..
I wish you win the battle,
Karine

Hi Vanessa,
it's the other way around... cottage cheese is an appropriate substitute for Quark. Dr. Budwig always used Quark. I have seen no record of her using yogurt. It does not have the same protein concentration. If you do want to use it, you would be best off to strain it so that you obtain a type of Quark - a yogurt Quark. That way you can use it as a direct substitute. See our files under "Foods".

Is there any alternative to the above for the milk allergic?
Not really. The Budwig Protocol requires Quark or some other form of dairy. Dr. Budwig did not deviate from her fo/quark or fo/cc formula. The subject of finding a substitute comes up again and again. Some people who could not tolerate Quark or CC found strained yogurt or kefir acceptable. To get an idea what has been discussed in the past, read these message numbers: 13583, 16211, 18488, 16829.
