Re: I'm a newcomer...breast cancer
Janet,
2 years ago when I was first dx, I was e+ and then they said her2+, but when they sent the sample to the US for a FISH test ( this was done so that I could qualify for a study; be very cautious when they say they want you in a study for a new drug!)and the test came back as negative. This proves that a second opinion is always worth it, and that I trusted my gut instinct that it was impossible that I was her2+. Of course I also declined chemo. Incidentally I had a masectomy when I was first dx and a year later here I am with a dxs again. I had 2 nodes affected of the 13 they removed. I had 1-2 swallon nodes recently, but I am sure they have reduced when I checked them today. I have been putting a poultice of plantain on them 2x a day. I pick these from the garden. Anna |

From: "jjohnsonpesenti" <janettheflowerfarm@...> I did a 30 day juice fast with liver/gall bladder, kidney/bladder,Imagine if you had not done the cleansing program, it have grown more! The cleansing is only the first step up to better health. The next will be the mind, cleansing it of toxic thoughts. I discovered Dr. Budwig's program part way through this time and am using it now. The surgeon called today and wants to cut it out, the >radiologist said it looks very aggressive from the mamo and the >increase in such a short time.Did you ask how they can rate the agressiveness from the mammo? Always question their diagnosis and their statements. That's the first rule. Do not put complete faith in the doctor. You have to have complete faith in yourself. There is a doctor within you. I am premenopausal and the tumor is only very weakly responsive toHow have they established the estrogen receptors. Have you had a needle biopsy? My reasoning behind having the surgery would be to take the load >off my body to help it heal. Any thoughts on this thinking??I don't know where this statement came from. I suspect a doctor, but the removal of tumors that are in my opinion less than 5cm is not going to give your immune system a break. I have no stats, only what I have read in books and studies, but the rate of recurrence of cancer in people who have had surgery does not change. In fact the anaesthetic is detrimental to the immune system. It has been said that the anaesthetic will remain in the body for up to 12 months. Also half of my family has been diagnosed with lymphoma in the last >4 years and I am wondering if my body is fighting something else >too.Do you live in a highly populated area? In Israel the government, after consultation with the scientists and researchers have banned some chemicals, I don't know which ones, that were known to cause breast cancer. Their breast cancer incidence has dropped dramatically since then. So look in your cupboards, the air you breath, the water you drink and even the sprays you use in the garden or kitchen to kill insects or clean surfaces with, if these have toxic chemicals in them. I bet you they have. I am currently taking about 6 TBS of FO everyday...it's only been >about 4 days. Also after surgery I am going straight to a Gerson >clinic where they have agreed I can continue with the CC/FO.I think the main diff. with JB and Gerson is the coffee enemas and the fo/cc I believe that they would compliment each other. I seem to remember reading somewhere that JB said she would get results from this diet in 3 months. The cancer of the breast I have continued to grow, but I persevered and under the supervision of an excellent Russian naturopath, I got results in 4 months. You will need to go in the achives messages to get my history. My story is too long to explain. But in short one tumor reduced to 25 % with no further growth. |

I know this may sound too way out for some peolpe, but I just listen to my body for knowing if things are going right or not.

Re: How do you determine your progress?
JCASTRON
There are many that will advise that Scans carry a sufficient risk as to be avoided.
These are decisions only you can make. I have heard that one CT-Scan is equal to 100 Chest X-Rays. Would I take 100 Chest X-Rays? Why would I inflict that on already diseased organs? However that is me. I would think, if I had your diagnosis and it is me speaking, that I already know I have the illness and after only a couple of weeks what could I learn? Even a 'tumor response' indicating shrinkage would not tell me I was getting better because of the other factors. Then scans, like all tests, do not reveal everything and you would still be flying blind so to speak. These are not easy decisions Esther and I would hope that more experienced people on the list would enter the discussion. Again Esther, it is your decision. Are you doing the alternative protocols on your own without any assistance from any 'professionals'???? Good luck with what your efforts are and keep up trying. Joe C. |
Re: Full Body Scans & Radiation
This refers to full body scans and radiation as shown on the American Cancer
website. Clearly the part about the radiation being equal to some of the survivors at Hirshoima and Nagasaki is not very comforting. Maria () People who opt for a full-body CT scan as a way to screen for cancer may be getting a bigger dose of radiation than they bargained for. Full-Body CT Scans: Too Much Radiation? Study Finds High Potential Doses, but Other Scan Dangers Likely Worse Article date: 2004/09/03 Those full-body CT scans advertised at some health care centers may be delivering as much radiation as a low-dose atomic bomb, according to a new study. And that means people who get them could be raising their cancer risk, researchers from Columbia University report in the journal Radiology (Vol. 232, No. 3:735-738). "The radiation dose from a full-body CT scan is comparable to the doses received by some of the atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where there is clear evidence of increased cancer risk," said David J. Brenner, PhD, D.Sc, lead author of the study and professor of radiation oncology and public health at Columbia University in New York. Scans Not Suitable Screening Tool The study is sure to add fuel to the already hot controversy over full-body computed tomography scans. The scans are marketed as a way for healthy people to find diseases like lung cancer or colon cancer before symptoms become apparent. But many experts say there's little evidence the scans actually work as a screening tool. No studies have been done to determine whether screening for disease in this way actually saves lives or improves people's outcomes. "Leading scientific and medical organizations not only do not endorse full-body CT screening, but also caution against use of this test," said Robert Smith, PhD, director of cancer screening for the American Cancer Society. For one thing, the scans may show a person has nothing wrong when in fact there is disease present. Because the patient thinks he's healthy, he may not get other screening tests that could find his disease early. Another problem: The scans may wrongly identify normal areas as suspicious. To know for sure, though, the patient must undergo costly and potentially risky invasive procedures to get a definitive diagnosis. "The risk-benefit equation changes dramatically for adults who are referred for CT scans for medical diagnosis," Brenner said. "Diagnostic benefits far outweigh the risks." |

Hi Cheryl
In the Breuss cure book it is recomended to use allready prepared juice from Switzerland, BIOTA, because nowaday nobody can quarantee you have 100% organic vegetable unless you have your own garden. And yes, it has 55% beet root, 20% celery, 20% carrot, 3% potato, and 2% radish juice. Thank you for the advice Suzana |
Re: Rudolf Breuss Juice - please advise
Suzana Cvetanovic
Hello
I did Breuss for 31 days and honestly, do not have a clue why someone should not take more than 500 ml per day. But, this is a fast that could be good reason, juice is only a tool to help your body to get rid of toxins. I, myself, could hardly drink more that 125ml per day, which is recommended dose. Do not forget you are not supposed to drink it and eat, which means in order to drink a glass of 125 ml you need at least half hour. Suzana |

Hi Cheryl, thank you so much for your warm welcome. You can't imagine
the feeling when I read that a healer told you Budwig/Gerson combination is very powerful. I almost cried. I have been doing research on my own for a month and this is my first try at alternative and these were my top two choices. I am actually very healthy, no physical symptoms or problems (other than worried sick about this and I'm going for some hypnotherapy tomorrow). I am still considering surgery to take the load off, mainly because how aggressive it is and because of my family's lymphoma. I will keep you all posted, and many thanks to all of you who wrote...Ren, Esther, Barb, Cindy, Rhoda and all the rest. Hugs to all of you, Janet progress with the Gerson/Budwig protocol mix. Just last week, a very well |
Re: Breuss Juice
In the Breuss book, as I understood it, the (simplified) reason why he
recommended such small amounts of juice was that he wanted to stimulate detoxing but he also believed the body would feed off of the protein in cancer for sustenence if it had nothing else. It is a novel idea, and a very interesting book. Terry |

The Breuss juice is a powerful detoxing juice and if you have serious cancer your body might not be able to cope with the detoxing effects of the juice. That is how I understand it. Maybe somebody else can give you a better explanation. Cheryl Subject: [FlaxSeedOil2] Rudolf Breuss Juice - please advise I have read a translated book of Rudolf Breuss juice saying it is not |
Re: Progress

Hi Suzana,
Very often cancer patients have swollen lymph nodes. It is a sign that your lymph is blocked with toxins because of the cancer and the lymph has to fight so hard to get rid of the toxins. In other words, swollen lymph nodes is a visible sign that your body wants to get rid of all those toxins. Maybe you should do some lymph work - to get the lymph moving. Deep breathing exercises, dry body brushing before you take your shower or bath, use your shower as hydrotherapy by alternating hot/cold and maybe deep body massages including lymph drainage massaging. Just for interest sake, did you do the Breuss 55% beet root, 20% celery, 20% carrot, 3% potato, and 2% radish juice on your fast? Re: COTTAGE CHEESE vs YOUGHURT
W. Hansen
Hi Karl,
though Dr. Budwig always used quark for the fo/cc mixtures and she did not seem to have mentioned yogurt for that purpose, I do believe that yogurt can be used as a direct substitute for quark or CC if it has been strained. That way you end up with a yogurt quark. Please see our files under "Foods" for more on it. Wilhelm Hi, Could anyone clarify for me whether or not it is alright to use yoghurt as an alternative to cottage cheese or quark, and if so so what proportion to flax oil should be taken. Thanks, Karl Schmierer |

How do you determine your progress?
Hi all:
I have been doing the budwig protocol for about 2 weeks now. I'm wondering how some of you track your progress on the diet. I am dealing with stage 4 breast cancer with mets to liver and bones. Is there harm with doing ct scans and pet scans to determine your progress of disease? I don't know how else to determine my status, since you can't actually see your liver or bones. Are the rest of you tracking yourselves with some other method? Thanks! Esther |
