That was an excellent post. But do remember that you are definitely missing something when using Flax Seed Oil - primarily Lignans. The Lignans contain a very important part of the benefits of Flax Seed - which SDG's. The SDG's have been proven to lower Bad Cholesterol in your blood, which helps fight heart disease. I like the combination approach you have chosen because it does give you the best of both worlds,? just make sure your getting enough. Your going to need to 2 to 3 tablespoons to expect to benefit from the seeds.

Mike Martin

I am afraid that you are woefully illinformed. The actual truth is that there are very few studies regarding flax oil. I have over 23 studies posted on our website, all of which are focused on ground flax seed. We have an additional 15 or 20 here in our library which we will post as soon as we get them all indexed. I suggest you go to the website and review them - you will find them in the "book" section under "resources". You do bring up an interesting point, Flax seed oil producers take the science as it applies to the flax seed and assume that it applies to the oil. I can assure you that it does not. A scant few studies have been done on the actual oil - period. I have several studies that support the fact that the seed is superior to the oil. I don't suggest those because many of the people here are doing Dr. Budwigs protocol and from what has been said, its working for them, and god bless them too. I could not possibly provide you with studies with both flax seed and flax oil, because hardly anyone has studied flax oil. So I would submit to you to show me where your science is supporting oil, I have showed you where to find mine.
?
I really hope that everyone here is aware of the fact regarding "lignan enriched" flax oil. In oil you get barely any lignans at all. There is no scientific way to add lignans back into oil - so don't be fooled and don't spend the money on it. Flat out - its a Gimmick. Barleans themselves sent me the info on lignans enrichment - and guess what, they said we couldn't print it, what does that tell you? With ground flax seed you get a wide assortment of savory dishes which you can add the ground flax seed making it easier to integrate into your lifestyle. This?makes it a more applicable choice to introduction in meal plans.
?
So therefore we can not engage in any scientific arguments regarding ground flax seed and flax seed oil because the science supporting oil - doesn't exist.
?
Repectfully
Mike Martin?

So then it is like centrifugic-forces which change , by seperating two or three substancearound, as like cream from milk. Now in flaxseed it is oil from what?

Erasmus, in his books on oils, was my source concerning the advisibility of handling flax oil gently.? He said to not shake the oil too much.? I don't think he's concerned with "thickness," but with actual damage to the nutritional qualities of this extremely fragile oil.
It's interesting to note, in this connection, that people that use powdered Whey protein products, have recently been advised to blend it into their drinks without rough handling, or at high speed in their electrical blenders, as that might degrade the protein.
When I was a raw milk drinker, I remember hearing that the best carton of milk you could drink, was one that you got when you went directly to the factory where the milk was first processed into containers, and drank it immediately.

Not just prolonged exposure to heat, but even prolonged rough handling of the oil, continued shaking of the container can degrade flax oil.?? ?John. What will rough handling cause the flaxseed oil to do? I was reading we are to what turn it upside down, let the L's distribute around to their proper place, every time we use the bottle of oil..Now wait here I'm lost again., If I do this every time I use the oil, then this will what make it to think, or not thick enough, or the chemicals change, what happens. And scientific I'm not so use codes, but English here please to explain this to me and others reading this.

See cream from the cow..if we shake it to much each time we use it, turns to butter. Let me give you an example. We bought a pint of cream to use in daily food. I was also using it in tea and coffee. I kept noticing each time I took it out to put it was getting thicker. I investigated, thinking maybe it was going sour. But when I opened the container..WOW ! I had the evening butter ready for the breads I was serving as well. So then is this the way flaxseed oil reacts when it is turned and shook to often?

Flax oil, I suspect, can give us something that ground seed cannot, much as extraction of juices from carrots, celery, etc., can provide a more concentrated and potent assist against illness and loss of vitality.? But it's clear that the whole seed provides elements that may, in the long run, be as important in their own way, as the qualities of the pure oil.
I? approach this problem by using them both.? I put the oil on some foods, and the freshly ground seed on other foods.
The distinct advantages with grinding your own seed (I never use packaged flax "meal"), is that the problem of possible rancidity is diminished, the seed is less expensive, and, prior to being ground, lasts indefinitely.

If prevention is your aim, you may want to consider using ground flax seed. It offers you more of the benefits of the flax seed, and less hassle. There are many uses which can be very savory and you need not be limited to fso/cc. For more information, visit our website, .

Nothing is STUPID..and I for one sort of understood where you were coming from..we accept your apologies..
?
I went a little ahead here on the list to try to help us all out with maybe getting questions answered. I wrote a nice letter to Barleans to one of the head-persons, and asked them to kindly get back with me, so I can post what they have to say to us all. I figure that in order for us to learn we go to the Horse..front-end and stay away from that back drafty door. ( get my drift?
?
As long as Cliff is away a few days, we will need to try all we can now to help each other. I am sure he will be so proud of us when he sees how well we are handling the group. Also lets not forget to thank him for starting this new group 2..and that we can keep it from getting out of hand like group one was getting. And if you can please encourage the good folks over there to join us here. Some of us are staying on both for awhile, just so neither group gets to out of control.Remember Flaxseed one, don't have an list owner. He up and left us without evening saying SO long..I'm out of here. And he will not answer anybody's letters anyway. This is not a nice way to run a group. We are so proud of the New list 2 now..and so far it is running smoothly. Thanks to all of you.

Best Regards,?? Lorenzo

If you have pain -Join the Caveman list and eat like our ancestors.Diet is very good..and one has got to learn at adjust to foods you don't like to eat sometimes. Now lets compare..give us a list of caveman foods, and a list of none-caveman foods..and also in the prep/of each one..Boil it down to the vitamins cooked and uncooked methods. Thanks Because for new-comers I'm sure we've already lost them..and I'm not to far behind. I've heard on list pros/con to caveman foods..so I need to read something simple to understand what kind of diet I want besides what I'm already eating daily. We around here love raw, salads, over those with cooked foods in them. But my daughter Shilah fixed us a good chicken, Mac/salad with a tangy-taste of vinegar-mustard sauce the other night and it was delicious. But we wouldn't want this salad every day. I will put the recipe in my new cook book that I will be starting to work on now next week. I have pages to redo, and then have put into print. So if anyone now has anything they would like to add to my intro..or to an open page, please do so, if only it is related to Health and the way you've learned to eat for your own benefit. Keep in mind, that not everyone of us is able to eat the same kids of foods, because of stomach problems, and etc..Medications can also cause foods to not digest properly. Some pills, and foods do not mix. AND no my cookbook isn't just on diet foods, and etc..but recipes handed down from many generations..good or bad for you they will be in the book, and you'll be your own judge. But I will touch down on some difference as I work along. And I never use what I call FAKE butter in my recipes..I do not wish plastic in my foods either. And am very fussy about cooking oil and my cooking utensils too..( whenever I have to use some ).
