That's great, Linda.? Unfortunately, we only have Labcorp in my area and they are notoriously inaccurate here.? In fact, I know "insider" stories from people who work there and the negligent handling of specimens is as bad as it gets.? To the point where they make up test results in some cases rather than process the samples.? I'm sure that's not the case in every area, but here, it's a fact.
Denise, Walkinlab is a an online place where you purchase the tests you want.?? They give you an order which you print and take to any Labcorp or Quest place.? ?Our nearest town has about 4 Labcorp facilities, or we can use the Labcorp person at out doctors.?? The results are online, usually the next day.
?
There are other online places similar to Walkinlab.
A problem in getting tested for Vitamin D is that Medicare will only pay for ONE vitamin D test in a lifetime, unless there is a specific reason for doing so. ??I guess they assume if your Vitamin D is good when you are 65, it will always be good.? (Or is it that fixing a low Vitamin D level doesn¡¯t require expensive drugs or procedures?)
?
We use to get a much better price (they frequently have sales).? There is a LabCorp person at our doctor¡¯s office, and she will do our Walkinlab testing.? ?We get tested every year ¨C it¡¯s worth paying about $50 for each of us.
