Prolly olde/yesterday's newsvetc (MES review of Morrissey 1988)
开云体育“A series of wives rather than a one night stand rock star lifestyle” would appear to be wide of the mark, given Brix and others’ biographies! ? Anyway, I’ve attached the review from “Gay Life”, May 1988, as Fallnetters appear not to have seen it. ? ? Dan ? Sent from for Windows ? From: wwalters@...

Smith.” Okay, now that’s a good line, Tom Taylor… > *nina* > https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/mark-e-smith-reviewed-morrissey-first-album/ “ ? MES isn't a misanthrope, especially by today's screen and self obsessed standards. ? Largely on the road and in pubs. More social contact with far more people than most. ? A series of wives rather than a one night stand rock star lifestyle, as far as I can tell. ? The remark: something like "I met brix and so we got married" or some such. I wonder if that was a visa thing though - like Cleese and Connie Booth. ? His criticisms seem to be those of an artist and I love the "God help us if there's a war" initial reaction to the Smiths - spot on. I was and am now much happier when Morrissey is hated by the media establishment. It was horrible in the 2000s when everyone on telly was a Smiths fan, telling us how much better his shite middle aged albums were. I'm glad they never quite reduced MES to a national treasure, though they wanted to, but I am bitterly sorry he died when he did. I bet he would would have napalmed the fuckers expecting him to sit at home on handouts for 18 months playing with his ipad ? Cliff damn you, Nina, for making me read a music journalism article, but I cannot resist MES^Mozzer ? "there last LP hooked me with its poetry and power.”? Oh dear. But Tom Taylor published NINE articles today (yesterday) so we might forgive him ? He has published ca 1000 articles in the past six months. Bot? Fake name for unpaid interns? cold reheated cut n pastes? (this one rehashes a mag artcl) ? Yet he still has time to give moral lectures to his elders and betters, as is always the way with music journalists. Right back to the big names of the 1960s. ? MES escapes censure and even gets a condescending pat on the head by the simpering little teenaged prick in the article conclusion "how commendable it was for the punk frontman to contribute to a gay magazine in the era that it was written." ? Gosh yes. Remember all those punk frontmen like Sidney Viscous and Susan Sue who uses to wear swastikas in the mid 1980s and there were no free tampons in the men's toilets. Not in My Name said our Mark. ? How proud his family must be -- indeed we all should be -- that he has the commendation of Tom Taylor Fuck look at the time? ? ? ? ? ? |
开云体育Didn’t he also say to Caitlin Moran: “I’ve fucking fucked more fucking women that you’ve fucking had fucking hot fucking dinners” before starting on a mega rant that lasted about 10 mins? ? It was a while ago and I may have underestimated the number of swears in that sentence. ? adam ?
