I just read on the CBC website that to allow permanent residents to vote. I want to congratulate?you on being so innovative. As long as you are going to reopen the Act, why not make?another important modification?

Some other provinces have already changed their Acts to allow for ranked ballots. London, ON was the first city in Canada to vote with a ranked ballot. It appears that they found it a positive experience before reactionary Far Right populist Doug Ford took away their ranked ballots again.

I believe that NB municipalities can also benefit from a ballot that allows for more nuanced expression, eliminates vote-splitting, and opens up a path to Proportional Representation.

Let's give permanent residents a fairer, better electoral system for them to participate in.
