If you have a family site on Rootsweb
If you have a family website under WorldConnect or Rootsweb's Freepages - WorldConnect family trees (last updated on 9 August 2021) will be retired on 15 April 2023 and migrated to Ancestry as a new free-access collection later in the year. For help removing a tree or its content, contact us. https://support.rootsweb.com/s/article/Retiring-and-Migrating-Portions-of-RootsWeb Hosted websites will become read-only beginning in early 2024. At that time, all logins will be disabled, but hosted sites will remain on RootsWeb as static content. Website owners wishing to maintain their sites must migrate to a different hosting provider before 2024. Tim Stowell

ELMER - BROWN - PRICE - ERSKINE - FANCHER Family Marriage Certificate
I've "rescued" an original marriage certificate for Alonzo O. ELMER and his bride Ida E. BROWN, both of Parish Oswego Co., NY who were married on 4 July 1873 in Mexico, NY by Edwin MIDLAM the Justice of the Peace. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this couple: Alonzo ELMER was b. Aug 1852 in Oswego Co., NY to parents Hosea ¡°Hosey¡± O. ELMER (1819 or 1822-1896) and Mary E. BATES or WATSON (1825-1897). Alonzo was one of 7 children including, Lorenzo D.; Lucinda or Lorenda or Solinda or Lovinda or Lorinda A.; Alonzo; Mary L.; Frank T. or R.; and Ellsworth H. ¡°Alley¡± ELMER, all born between 1846 and 1863. Alonzo married three times, first to Ida E. BROWN; second to Ida P. PRICE ERSKINE (1854-1888) who he married in 1874; and third to Carrie Estelle PETTINGILL or PETENGILL (1861 or 1862-1917) who he married in 1889. He had 5 children including, Fredrick ¡°Fred¡± Leroy ELMER (1874-1949); Frank Otis ELMER (1876-1960); Lillian (1880-1918); Ida May ELMER (b. 1888); and Ida ELMER born after 1889. Alonzo died 12 Apr 1924 in Oswego Co., NY and is buried in the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery in Parish, NY. It is possible that Ida E. BROWN and Ida P. PRICE are the same person because records are very mixed. Ida P. PRICE was b. 1854 to Mother Emeline FANCHER ERSKINE (1830-1909). Ida died 20 Sept 1888 and is buried in the South Richland Cemetery in Pulaski, NY. I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that the certificate can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
