Windows 7 and QRZ.COM
Gilbert Baron
I just installed all the programs on Windows 7. It is in an administrator
account but not the hiddened administrator. All so far seems to work exceptr QRZ.COM call lookup. HTat no longer works. It does work if you go to Pathfinder to do it but not if you click CBA or Lookup. I think they may have finally enforced direct lookup at QRZ but not sure. Anyhow so faer is so good fpor Windows 7. I did tuoff UAC by turning it to the Never prompt level. I shou;ld have tried installing in a Standard user I suppose just to see. J |
Gil, please verify that the URL on Pathfinder's Config window is set to

wroks. I hd to install in an account with administrator privileges so unfortunalely that is still required. I assume the installer does not have the rights? It ewoudl be nicer if it could install and run in a standard usewr but perhaps that is more work than it is wroth. Just the fact that it seems not to require the hidden administrator accounmt is a big plus becaeu I can nae it as I wish and keep separate accounts for separtat things. I don't even know if there is ush an account in W7? -----Original Message-----

WIth UAC set to "Never Prompt", my DXLab is installed on the first created standard user account with no problems. Note that the first user account created during the installation of Windows 7 has some special privileges. I have not tried using a secondary user account created after Win 7 installation.

I'm not sure what is causing your QRZ.com problem but I suspect that it is some DXLab option setting and has nothing to do with Windows 7. I'm sure Dave will try to help you with that. 73, Rich - W3ZJ Gilbert Baron wrote: I just installed all the programs on Windows 7. It is in an administrator |
