¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDXView can be configured to control a rotator. ?See the following link:http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/RotatorControl Bruce McLain - K5WBM Bruce.McLain@... On May 30, 2025, at 1:56?PM, Brian Bowers G0VAX via groups.io <g0vax67@...> wrote: Hi All,
I have a Yaesu Gd-450 rotator with the ERC4 rotator controller board fitted.
Is there anyway that the software can be made to turn the antenna automatically in the correct direction for given bands?

I have a Yaesu Gd-450 rotator with the ERC4 rotator controller board fitted.Computer control of a rotator is a great idea. Automatically turning it when you click on a spot is a really bad one, and a recipe for wearing it out. Listen first. All but the largest antennas have fairly broad horizontal patterns. 3 dB down points (half an S-unit) are typically +/- 40 degrees, and are relatively dead at 90 degrees off axis. From my QTH near San Francisco, when I point my 3-el SteppIR to EU at 20 degrees during contests, I work a lot eastern US stations at 70-90 degrees. If you hear the station pretty well, call him. If no response, THEN turn the antenna. 73, Jim K9YC |

+ According to this web page + The ERC4 utilizes the Hygain protocol, so DXView can rotate it to the correct short path or long path headingto the location selected on DXView's Main window (by entering a callsign prefix, IOTA tag, grid square, or latitude and longitude), DXView World Map window (by clicking on the desired location), or a selected Spot Database Entry. + There is no "correct direction for given bands". The only role that frequency plays is in determining whether to use the short path or long path heading from your QTH to a designated location; PropView can provide that guidance. ? ? ? ?73, ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
