DOK references

Dave,
Thanks for the guidance on SQL expressions.
I had overlooked the need to use the "ADIF field name" option rather than just "DOK".
I can now see how to better construct such queries in the future.
Koen,
There are many different awards that involved the working of various DOKs & not just DARC ones.
One I looked at earlier is the Baden Diploma where there is a requirement to work multiple "A" DOKs hence the query.
Dave,
The drop down list in DXKeeper includes some "special event" DOKs as well as standard ones.
I find that I have worked DOK IBO 83 which does not feature in your list.
However includes what I believe is a definitive list of all special DOKs some of which are temporary.
IBO 83 is temporary but there are other IBO DOKs which are also temporary which do in fact feature in the dropdown.
I assume that some awards may involve working such temporary DOKs but within certain time constraints.
However there must be several hundred of these so I guess including them all is not feasible.

The list of DOKs that DXKeeper presents is loaded on startup from the file

Award230.txt

in DXKeeper's Databases folder. You can carefully add or remove entries from
this list.

Koen ON7RK has been posting updated versions of this file in this Group's
Files area, and I've been including them in DXKeeper updates. However, if
ops are going to start maintaining custom versions of Award230.txt, then I
will stop including them in DXKeeper updates so that these updates will not
overwrite the customizations. That means that when Koen announces the
availability of a new version, it will up to each interested user to
download it into his or her Databases folder and either use it "as is" or
use it to update their customized version of the file.

Dave, AA6YQ

What sort of information are you seeking, Joe? Unlike the DOK list, the
WAB, WAIP, and DDFM lists rarely change, and are already provided by
DXKeeper. To get more information about the awards supported by DXKeeper,
click on the hyperlinks in the Award column of

To test the new WAIP support, I just did this with my stack of Italian
and Sardinian QSLs; I estimate that 80% of these cards specified a province
name or code.

the info needed is to give me the ability to reconcile all my qsl cards so that the proper info is entered in the award field for region/county etc. lots of times i have no way of know what region/county/district etc i have worked and have no way at present to reconcile my qsl card info against what dxkeeper expects to be put in that field. thanks joe kl7lf

If you don't know what region/county/district is associate with a QSO
(meaning that you didn't log the information at the time of the QSO and the
its not specified on the QSL card), then your only options are a callbook
lookup (but not all callbooks supply this information, and the user may have
moved after the QSO was made) or contact with your QSO partner (e.g. via
email). Some awards require you to submit QSL cards; cards that don't
substantiate the region/county/district will likely not be accepted.

For Primary and Secondary Administrative Subdivision items (e.g. states,
provinces, departments, oblasts, cities, guns, prefectures), DXKeeper
presents you with a list of valid choices. As most of these subdivisions are
specified by a code that you may not recognize, you can click the item's ?
button; DXKeeper will then display a window that lets you select the
appropriate code by the subdivision's full name. For example, you can click
on "Bouches-du-Rhone", and DXKeeper will set the Primary Administrative
Subdivision item (labeled "Department" in a French QSO) to 13.

The table in <> and
the notes following this table describe exactly what DXKeeper expects you to
record for each supported award. It also provides hyperlinks so that you can
see exactly how a WAB square or IARC Area is determined.

DXKeeper's "list" -- and the subject of the DDFM award -- are French and
Corsican Departements, not French cities. For the DDFM rules, see

<>

and for a list of the 95 "D???partements fran???ais de la m???tropole" and their
codes, see

<>

These 95 departments are specified by ADIF as Primary Administrative
Subdivisions for France and Corsica.

Hi Steve,

The list i follow is the list from DARC.

IBO is the special DOK for Friedrichshaven.
And IBO83 is not in that list nor in the CSV file wich i use to make Award230.txt

I discovered some more faults in that list... but i thrust DARC...
If i'm right you can enter your Own value in the DOK field as well.

Hi Koen,
Thanks for the information & URLs.
I think Dave's idea to leave users to enter their own additional DOKs as they need them is the best idea.
There is no point in having a very large list which includes temporary DOKs which are more than 25 years old
which will never be activated again.
I have already added IBO83 to my Award230.txt file so must remember that when you produce your next file.

Hi Steve,

For me it's OK also...

But what if someone , like you did, update his logbook with old qsl cards.
So then it's possible that he had a qsl card from 20 years old with that SDOK.

Hi Koen,
The only answer then is to include all the "Sonder" DOKs both permanent & temporary in the file.
I counted over 200 but looking at the DARC file there must be a lot more.
Being a text file I guess it would not be too big.
Can these old DOKs still be used for awards ?

Hi Steve,

The original list i use counts 3359 SDOK's.

But there are many dupes in it, sam SDOK but with different callsign.
After filtering this list i still get 1935 SDOK's.

example:

01ILLW Int. Lighthouse Weekend DA0LGT 16/08/2001 20/08/2001 I04
01ILLW Int. Lighthouse Weekend DA0BHV 17/08/2000 19/08/2001 R13

That's 2 times 01ILLW, so you only have to use 1 of them.
The option to select the SDOK from call and date was not worth the effort from Dave.

I think he's doing a great job already...
I have the feeling that DARC don't update there list 100%.
I mailed also a few times to add a SDOK.

I have here a printed DOK list from DARC Verlag dated 22.7.1991

It shows IBO78 till IBO99
same for IR83 till IR99
UKW88 till UKW99
VHV86 till VHV99
CM80 till CM99 (and I know there are more after this one)
now many with start 25, 40 or 50 and the original DOK behind that number.
But I suggest if you work one of these (now CM2008 or IFA09, currently active) just add them, they are shorttime and will not be reactivated after the year is over or the activity period is past.
This counts every year anew, and that's why the SonderDOK count now is higher than the original DOK count
