Re: DOK references
I have here a printed DOK list from DARC Verlag dated 22.7.1991
It shows IBO78 till IBO99 same for IR83 till IR99 UKW88 till UKW99 VHV86 till VHV99 CM80 till CM99 (and I know there are more after this one) now many with start 25, 40 or 50 and the original DOK behind that number. But I suggest if you work one of these (now CM2008 or IFA09, currently active) just add them, they are shorttime and will not be reactivated after the year is over or the activity period is past. This counts every year anew, and that's why the SonderDOK count now is higher than the original DOK count 73 Nico, pa0mir |

Hello,
It has been too long since I had to do this. Dave has advised me in the past about how to delete a large number of contacts in the log (imported some by accident). I cannot remember how to do this task and I cannot find it in the help file. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 73, Buzz - NI5DX |

Hi Dave---It is configured Parallel Port (LPT3 Data 5 pin 7) Windows is not a real-time operating system, so even though WinWarbler runsWith that setting, Windows is generating the CW timing. Unfortunately, its CW-generation at the highest possible priority, simply moving your mouse while transmitting CW can yield erratic timing. If you have other applications simultaneously running, or if your PC is light on horsepower and/or RAM, these factors can contribute to the problem. Minimizing the load on your CPU and RAM while working CW is the least expensive approach. Another approach is to acquire a WinKey -- a small hardware device that accepts characters from WinWarbler and does the CW generation. You can build a WinKey serial port kit for as little as $36 (see <>) or you can purchase a fancier USB kit for about double that price (see <>). Several commercial products also incorporate WinKey circuits, e.g. MicroHam's product line (see <>). WinWarbler can also use a KAM, PSK232, or MFJ HF modem as a CW generator; these are often inexpensively available via flea markets or EBay (e.g. see < QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item19b622795e&_trksid=p3286.c0.m 14#ht_2088wt_1165>). 73, Dave, AA6YQ |
Re: DX Keeper Config. Application Pages
Hi Mike,

I take it from your description that you are using WinWarlber to generate CW rather than an external keyer such as the WinKey. Unfortunately, code generated by WinWarblerr is subject to CPU load and your computer's ability to handle it without encountering any processing delays. It sounds like your Laptop isn't quite up to the task and occasionally experiences a load that causes slight delays. I highly recommend the WinKey (www.k1el.com). This is supported by WinWarbler and generates it's own CW from the ASCII characters. Thus, it does not depend on your computers CPU to generate properly spaced dits and dahs. It's a relatively inexpensive kit that goes together in a couple of hours. The USB version has a built in USB to serial port converter and comes with the USB driver on CD that works with any version of Windows including the soon to be released Windows 7. From the day you plug that in and start using it, your CW will be squeaky clean no matter which computer is feeding it and no matter if you are using macros, keyboard or paddles. 73, Rich - W3ZJ w8emt wrote: Hi Group |

DX Keeper Config. Application Pages
Hi Group
I have been a member of the group for quite sometime. have enjoyed reading about the shortcuts and fixes. Now I have a problem with my DX Keeper Config. Application Pages. When I click the Config. Button I do not see Config. Page. all I see is the Page Icon on the bottom in the Task Bar, which means I can not do my configs. I have tried to Deleate and re-install the DX Keeper program from the beginning and the same thing is still happening. All the rest of DX Lab Suite Programs work just fine. I sure would appreciate the Help. Tnx's & 73 in advance Mike ( W8EMT ) MLSW8EMT@... can contact me on or off the group |

Re: Erratic function of Commander 5.8.7
I agree with Rich that you should upgrade to the latest release of Commander, but I doubt it will resolve the problem. You report that Commander was successfully controlling your transceiver, but that over time its ability to control your transceiver degraded. This in combination to the details you cite below points to change in your PC, most likely in the operating system configuration or perhaps in the serial port driver.
