Hi!

This software (DXLab) is not too complicated as such. But somehow the

developers have succeeded to make installing and uninstalling of this

program quite a mess. There is much to improve in that respect.

What do you have in mind?

That means that the Registry settings that the Launcher relies on to determine if these applications are installed indicate that these applications are installed.

If you click on upgrade it generates the message cannot upgrade because "path...spotcollect or.exe does not exist. Upgrade aborted.

That means that the "Program Path" you've specified for SpotCollector on the Launcher's Config window is invalid.

I need to find out if there is something I can delete that will cause launcher to know that commander and spotcollector are not actually installed and allow me to reinstall them.

Your PC's Windows Registry is in an inconsistent state. You can try running the free-ware Revo un-installer, but at this point there can be no guarantees short of "re-install Windows" (which I am not suggesting or recommending) .

On the Pathfinder's Config window, change the QRZ URL to

. com/db/{TargetCallsign}

What you have there now is incorrect, and is the reason DXKeeper cannot
access QRZ.com via Pathfinder.

Tnx Dave.

Could it be extended to PSK also?

The RTTY notch filter used is provided by the MMTTY engine that
WinWarbler utilizes for RTTY operations. The PSKCore engine that WinWarbler
uses for PSK operations does not provide a notch filter. Providing a notch
filter for PSK operations would require extending PSKCore; this is
technically feasible, but not a priority.

I was wondering if WinWarbler had a selectable Notch filter using the sound
card. This would allow a strong station within the PSK passband to be
notched out.

I know I can use the optimize feature to center the received station in the
radios filter and then can select a narrow filter on my rig to eliminate
other possible QRM.

WinWarbler does not provide a notch filter for PSK operations; it does
provide one for RTTY operations.

Re: BEGIN MACRO Request or Did I Miss This Also?

With "set QSO start when RST Rcvd" unchecked, these are the actions that
will set a QSO's start time:

1. clicking the "QSO Info" panel's Begin button

2. striking ALT-B in the Main window

3. sending a macro that includes an <RSTsent> or tx_serial_number> command

Before I email you an instrumented version of WinWarbler to see what's
causing the QSO to be started when you double-click a spot database entry,
please reconfirm that the "set QSO start when RST Rcvd" option is disabled
on the Log tab of WinWarbler's Config window. Thanks...

If you want your RST items initialized to but don't want the QSO's start

This is my setup. I have "set QSO start when RST Rcvd" unchecked and

Note that if you log a QSO without having clicked the Begin button,
WinWarbler will record the QSO's start and end times as the time at which
you clicked the Log button (or executed the Log macro command).

I just clicked 3A2MD at 2045 and walked away from computer. I came back hit

Situation: Click on spot or find station in pile up and start entry (enter
call sign) in WW. I then use TAB to see if I should proceed with chasing the
station. The QSO Started At Date/Time appears in red above call sign in WW.

Problem: I don't always get the station for several minutes and when I do,
it is a mad click to hit the BEGIN button and then the F Key to send my
report.

Is there or can there be a <begin> macro that can be placed in a F Key
function to reset the start time of the QSO? I can't find one in the list of
macros.

By default, a QSO's start time is set when you click the Main window's
"QSO Info" panel's Begin button.

On the Config window's Log tab, enabling the "set QSO start when RST
Rcvd" option means that a QSO's start time will be set when you specify its
"RST Rcvd" item, either by typing a report into the Main windows' "Log QSOs"
tab, or by double-clicking a received signal report.

On the Config window's Log tab, there is also an "initialize RST items to
default" option. If you enable this option and have also enabled "set QSO
start when RST Rcvd", then when you type a callsign into the "QSO Info"
window or double-click a decoded callsign

1. the "RST Rcvd" item is initialized to the default

2. the QSO's start time is set (because the "RST Rcvd" was recorded and you
have "set QSO start when RST Rcvd" enabled

If you want your RST items initialized to but don't want the QSO's start
time set when you capture a callsign, disable "set QSO start when RST
Rcvd".

Note that if you log a QSO without having clicked the Begin button,
WinWarbler will record the QSO's start and end times as the time at which

If your Buckmaster search button is not working, the problem cannot be the recent changes in QRZ.com .
When you started Pathfinder sometime over the past two weeks, it notified you that a new version of the QRZ search file was available; when you clicked its Update button, Pathfinder downloaded and installed this updated QRZ search file. This is the same search file that I and everyone else is successfully using to access QRZ.com via Pathfinder's QRZ search button.

Furthermore, a change in the QRZ web site would not cause your Buckmaster Hamcall search to suddenly stop working. My suspicion is that your Firewall (or some other anti-malware application) is preventing Pathfinder from accessing the internet.

Re: Pathfinder - not working..

On the Pathfinder's Config window, change the QRZ URL to

{TargetCallsign}

What you have there now is incorrect, and is the reason DXKeeper cannot
access QRZ.com via Pathfinder.

If you type my callsign into Pathfinder's callsign box and click the QRZ
button, what happens?

If you type my callsign into Pathfinder's callsign box and click the Buck
button, what happens?

If you open Pathfinder's Config window, to what is the QRZ.com URL set?

Re: Pathfinder - not working..

Do any of Pathfinder's other search buttons work?

I am certain it is due to the new QRZ Software in place. It occurred at that time.

I disagree, Tom. Pathfinder is working correctly here. Furthermore, a change in the QRZ web site would not cause your Buckmaster Hamcall search to suddenly stop working. My suspicion is that your Firewall (or some other anti-malware application) is preventing Pathfinder from accessing the internet.

Dave-
just test and same problem - if I push CBA in DXK "No Call Found" and
PF windows :
Ooops... That page wasn't found on QRZ
callsign of call from DXK is on PF window OK!
then I push QRZ on PF and it work OK -
I think a problem with data transmission from DXK to PF
because PF separately works well

Using - PF v 4.5.7 , DXK v 8.1.6
