Re: DX Keeper Config. Application Pages

I take it from your description that you are using WinWarlber to generate CW rather than an external keyer such as the WinKey. Unfortunately, code generated by WinWarblerr is subject to CPU load and your computer's ability to handle it without encountering any processing delays. It sounds like your Laptop isn't quite up to the task and occasionally experiences a load that causes slight delays. I highly recommend the WinKey (www.k1el.com). This is supported by WinWarbler and generates it's own CW from the ASCII characters. Thus, it does not depend on your computers CPU to generate properly spaced dits and dahs. It's a relatively inexpensive kit that goes together in a couple of hours. The USB version has a built in USB to serial port converter and comes with the USB driver on CD that works with any version of Windows including the soon to be released Windows 7. From the day you plug that in and start using it, your CW will be squeaky clean no matter which computer is feeding it and no matter if you are using macros, keyboard or paddles. 73, Rich - W3ZJ w8emt wrote: Hi Group |

DX Keeper Config. Application Pages
Hi Group
I have been a member of the group for quite sometime. have enjoyed reading about the shortcuts and fixes. Now I have a problem with my DX Keeper Config. Application Pages. When I click the Config. Button I do not see Config. Page. all I see is the Page Icon on the bottom in the Task Bar, which means I can not do my configs. I have tried to Deleate and re-install the DX Keeper program from the beginning and the same thing is still happening. All the rest of DX Lab Suite Programs work just fine. I sure would appreciate the Help. Tnx's & 73 in advance Mike ( W8EMT ) MLSW8EMT@... can contact me on or off the group |
CW Character Spacing
k4pby
Hello--I am new to the group. I am using WinWarbler ver 4.5.0 and have been very pleased with it. I have one problem that I am trying to solve though. When operating CW someties characters get run together with no spacing. For instance, AN would be transmitted as a P.The transmit window indicates AN but P is actually sent (AN with no character spacing). This does not happen all of the time but ofen enough that I don't trust it. I have tried varying the character spacing value and other parameters on the cw setup but it still happens.I would appreciate ieas on a solution. My CW setup is configured as so: Keyboard Mode(auto stop, auto start, character) and Weight(Dot/dash 1:3,element space 1, character space 3, word space 3)
Thanks--Chuck K4PBY |
Re: Erratic function of Commander 5.8.7
I agree with Rich that you should upgrade to the latest release of Commander, but I doubt it will resolve the problem. You report that Commander was successfully controlling your transceiver, but that over time its ability to control your transceiver degraded. This in combination to the details you cite below points to change in your PC, most likely in the operating system configuration or perhaps in the serial port driver.

On what version of Windows are you running? Is your FT897 connected to a serial port, or to a USB-to-serial adpator? 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@..., "cergender" <cergender@...> wrote:

There's a scripts folder in this group's Files area. Anyone can upload scripts they wish to share, and anyone can download them.

Re: WinWarbler configuration problem
Sounds like a problem with the Signalink driver, Mark. I suggest contacting Signalink's technical support.

Re: Pathfinder will not auto populate WW Name & QTH details.
WinWarbler cannot use QRZ.com as a callbook unless both DXKeeper and Pathfinder are running, and the Callbook tab of DXKeeper's Config window is configured for "QRZ.com via Pathfinder".

Re: Erratic function of Commander 5.8.7
The problem you describe is not a familiar one but the latest version of Commander is 7.9.2. The version 5.8.7 you have is a couple of years and two major revisions out of date. So, first get the current version installed and then if you still have a problem Dave can begin trying to track it down. No sense trying to track down a problem in ancient code!

That would be a very useful resource. I have to confess that my knowledge of SQL is not very good & it would be very useful to be able to refer to an index rather than keep asking for help. I am sure that many of the requests are duplicated. By the way when you get back to 1980/81 in your logs you will find two QSOs we had on 40m ssb. Erratic function of Commander 5.8.7
Hello to all!
I downloaded and installed Commander 5.8.7. as a standalone. It was working perfectly in the beginning. I am using it mainly for tuning and saving the frequencies for my Yaesu FT-897. Later on it started non-functioning. When selecting frequencies from the memory banks there was no effect to the radio or sometimes there was a delayed reaction. Now every time when I start the program it shows a dialogue with the following text: "aborting device data load operation - missing or invalid frquency: 11 -elo 2009 11:58:36> CI-V Commander version 5.8.7" The error log from the same time shows the following: "11-elo-2009 11:58:36 > DXLab Apps : 11-elo-2009 11:58:42 > CIVMain.Form_load: unable to register MouseWheelControl.ocx: RegisterMouseWheelControl failed with error code -2147467259 11-elo-2009 15:52:18 > CI-V Commander shutdown" It looks like something with mouse wheel control in question. But also ignoring that does not make any difference. Before I try re-installation I was wondering if there might be a simple solution to this problem. The computer software is WinXP Pro Sp3 Any ideas? Ben |

WinWarbler configuration problem
wc5m
I have a problem with WW receive. TX works OK. I am using a Tigertronix Signalink USB interface. I had it working up through last night but when I turned on the computer this morning RX doesn't work. When I open WW config and click on "Soundcard" and then "Receive" it says there is a problem with the sound hardware and to go to Control Panel/Printers and other Hardware and click "Add Hardware". However, when I do that "USB Audio Codec" (the default Signalink software) isn't listed. I've already tried restarting the computer and gone through the setup in the Signalink manual but no joy. HELP!

The original list i use counts 3359 SDOK's. But there are many dupes in it, sam SDOK but with different callsign. After filtering this list i still get 1935 SDOK's. example: 01ILLW Int. Lighthouse Weekend DA0LGT 16/08/2001 20/08/2001 I04 01ILLW Int. Lighthouse Weekend DA0BHV 17/08/2000 19/08/2001 R13 That's 2 times 01ILLW, so you only have to use 1 of them. The option to select the SDOK from call and date was not worth the effort from Dave. I think he's doing a great job already... I have the feeling that DARC don't update there list 100%. I mailed also a few times to add a SDOK. Koen ON7RK --- In dxlab@..., "Steve GW4BKG" <gw4bkg@...> wrote:
