Re: DXK - county look-up

I had the problem with several QSOs I entered. The state in the Award
section wasn't being filled in either. I don't know why that was happening
but it's working OK now. No doubt an operator problem.

Thanks, Dave.

"AZ,Maricopa" is indeed a valid US county; I just logged a test QSO
containing it.

What's the callsign of the station you logged that caused the error message
to appear?

Up at the top line in SpotCollector, do you see the letters WW between the set of brackets (along with CC, DXV etc)? And in the top line of WinWarbler do you see SC inside the brackets? If either of those do not show, it means that SC and WW are not talking to each other. You might need to close either one of them (or both), and reinitiate to get them talking.

Good Evening,
This is a question I've had for a long time; but have been unsuccessful in
finding the answer.
When using the WW logging capabilites, how do I get a spot from
sc into the Receive Panel of WW. Presently I have to fatfinger all the
data
into the appropriate boxes. I'm sure that Dave has incorporated this into
the suite; but I'll be darned if I can find how to turn it on.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: WAC report

Until there's a definitive announcement from the ARRL indicating the LotW
confirmations are acceptable for the WAC award, I don't believe its
appropriate for DXKeeper's WAC progress report to by default include LotW
confirmations. As I pointed out earlier, DXKeeper does provide an option
that when enabled causes DXKeeper's WAC progress report to include LotW
confirmations, so those wondering what their status will be once LotW
confirmations are accepted for this award can easily satisfy their
curiosity.

The WAC award info on the ARRL website says LoTW credits cannot be used.

"... At the present time credits in the ARRL LogBook of The World (LoTW)
system cannot be claimed for WAC credit. Applicants who have a current DXCC
award in the DXCC computer system can apply for WAC by completing the WAC
application form and sending it to the address noted above, listing credits
to be claimed on the application form. In this case QSL cards are not
required. ...."

That would seem to suggest that once you get your LoTW QSOs credited toward
DXCC you could submit
an application to have those credits applied to WAC.

Since now the WAC (and 5B-WAC) may be obtained from one's DXCC accout

(Application forms with cards credited in a DXCC account can be sent to

by e-mail or fax along with payment noted on the form)

can you modify the provided WAC report to show LOTW status as well as

Do LotW confirmations now count towards the WAC award? I have not seen
an
announcement to this effect from the ARRL.

You can direct DXKeeper to generate a WAC progress report that does

No, the rest of us are all double clicking spots to automatically fill in the WW log fields - we never type anything. I make many QSO's without ever touching the keyboard. We just need to figure out why that's not working for you. Dave will be in contact with you to debug the problem.

Hello Dave,

I did send you a direct reply on the new PF version.

About the clearing of the capture window, i mix a lot the SC use and simply
turning the dial by hand. So to evade a erraneous logging i prefer to clear
the capture window.
But okay , any new entry in the call field clears all the others , i can get used
to this , no problem.

Hello Dave ,

One minor for PF : When focus is transferred from another window to pf
window the cursor indicator is visible in the 'enter call' field.
However when focus was in pf window (while checking out a qrz entry for
example) and you return the focus to the entry field of pf by clicking in it
the cursor indicator is invisible making editing of a call already in it a
little bit difficult.

My wish for pf : To transfer a call from fe SC to PF you will have to double
click a SC row , at the same time the DXK capture window is filled. How
about just sending the call to pf on selection in SC, i like to check a call
for fun in qrz via PF but need to clear the capture window every time
afterwards.

Best regards,

Bernard Grijpstra PA3FZV

Hi again,

During those days I look up to the spot collector and notice somthing
interesting (and maybe wrong)!?
Since my antena working good only on 40 and 20 m I saw that on 40 m on
cluster almost every spot is marked as it working on CW mode... (ex:
hb9vello 7067 CW...)
I do not know why, is it band plan changed, or there is some mistake in my
configuration?

If a spot's notes specify a mode, then the spot database entry created
for that spot will specify that mode. If no mode is specified, SpotCollector
refers to the sub-band definition file that you've specified. A default
sub-band definition file is provided with SpotCollector, but is not
appropriate for all regions of the world. You can create a custom sub-band
definition file, in fact you can create multiple sub-band definition files
(e.g. one for use during CW contests, another for use during RTTY contests)
and choose the one most appropriate. See
