It would appear that the connection is disappearing somewhere within ALTER.NET.

I am still not able to reach dxlabsuites.com. I get the Windows Hmmm can't reach this page and www.dxlabsuite.com closed the connection.

+ It's working correctly here.

Is this the only download site for DxLab?

+ There are two, but the automation for initially installing the Launcher is only available from www.dxlabsuite.com

+ I assembled instructions for manually installing the Launcher from www.ambersoft.com but www.dxlabsuite.com returned before completed that work.

I've never had this issue before.

+ www.dxlabsuite.com typically has very high availability.

Slow Launcher load and Msg re Unable to Install Upgrades

 

As of this afternoon (5/5), the Launcher takes about 2 Mins to open (very slow compared to earlier today and yesterday), and when I open Config I see the "Red" message "Click New? to enable installs and upgrades". I have done so several times on two different PCs w/ DXLab and other than a spinning circle for a minute or so, the apps remain not enabled for installs and upgrades.
The apps appear to be working.
I there a problem on the DXLab end?

I'm sure that our hosting provider is working to restore access.

In the mean time, anyone needing access to Reference Documentation should use the Help buttons in your DXLab applications, as these display a local copy - which is as up-to-date as the online version.

I also have the same issue with PropView, in that I too have a TX power set, but after entering a grid, then hitting return to get the lat & long, when I go to Prediction and "Predict To" long or short path, I get a pop-up to say No Transmitter Power specified, but I do not see the Take-Off angle problem.
?
However, if I choose "Predict From" and click either short or long path, I get the prediction, and I am then able to click on "Predict To" and get results.

FT4 and FT8 should be on the mode list for a contact, but they are not. If I import contacts (which I do) FT8 appears in the mode field, but it does not appear in the pulldown list.

I have a situation where I worked CE0Y on FT4. That should be equivalent to FT8 but It isn't.

I don't know how to fix this.

+ In DXKeeper's Databases folder, what is the creation date associated with the file DefaultModes.txt ?

+ When you examine DefaultModes.txt using Windows Notepad, are there entries for FT4 and FT8?

+ I'm assuming based on your original report that no Modes.txt file is present in DXKeeper's Databases folder. If it were present, its contents would take precedence over those of DefaultModes.txt .

++ I don't remember when this behaviour showed up, I always made this manual correction? when the pop up windows showed up the first time. It can be that it happened after I installed the new version but I didn't report because of internet access problems at that time (and it is a minor issue), reason for reporting it now was the noaa.gov. - website error I had today which caused my concern that those websites might have been forced to switch off because of the present government activities in the USA and I wanted to know possible allternatives if there are any.
