Re: IC-PW1 configuration in DXLabCommander
Dave, W6DE
?
I do not see where you turn on your computer.
+ Power is turned on in this order.
Regulated Power Supply?IC-7600?PC?Start DXLabCommander?
(IC-7600 and DXLabCommander work together.)
PC?Start DXLabCommander ?Regulated Power Supply?IC-7600
(IC-7600 and DXLabCommander do not work together.)
?
Caution with low serial number PW1s serial numbers below about # 1030 will not operate in standby.??[I don’t remember the actual serial number, check further if it is below 1050.]
+ The serial number is 1453.
When IC-7600 and IC-PW1 are directly connected, they are fully controllable.
?
With the PW1 off, disconnect the PW1 to 7600 accessory?cable?also disconnect the PW1 CIV cable. Turn on your computer first then turn on your IC-7600.??Check to see that you can control the 7600 with?DXLabs.?
Even if I turn on the power in this order, DXLabCommander does not recognize the IC-7600 and cannot control it.
?
Check the CIV speed settings and address for the 7600 primary port.??And while you are there check the secondary port for the PW1.???In Commander’s Configuration you need to have se same speed and CIV address in both the primary and secondary Ports
+ CIV speed setting was changed to the same speed (9600).Do you want the address to be the same? What is the number?
The current address settings are IC-7600=7A, IC-PW1=74.
?
?Connect the 7600 to PW1 accessory cable and CIV cable.? Leave the PW1 alone do not push the PW1 power ON button.??The PW1 will now be in standby mode.? Can you now change bands on the PW1 by changing bands from the 7600 and/or the DXLab applications? + I cannot control IC-PW1 with DXLabCommander. In this state, exit DXLabCommander and turn off the power button on the IC-7600. Next, turn on the power button of the IC-7600 again. Then, start up DXLabCommander. Then the PW1 alert will light up and you can control IC-PW1 using DXLabCommander. ? It is in this state now. ? Shige, JJ1BCM ? |
LoTW status error?
开云体育I received the following resposnse from LoTW after giving it a Sync LoTW QSOs button press:
??????? Date????? Time?????????? Call??? Band????????? Mode?????? Submode?????? Station Call??? Result I checked the log, and that QSO was in doubt, and I had confirmed a QSO with that station about 7 hours later, so I deleted the corresponding entry in DXKeeper. However, I still get the same error now. What do I need to do to eliminate that error? I assume somehow remove it from LoTW, but how? Thanks in advance & 73 de Dave, W5SV

Re: IC-PW1 configuration in DXLabCommander
开云体育I do not see where you turn on your computer. In addition, you say you are turning on and off your 7600 power.? Do not turn on or off your 7600 with the switch on your power supply.? Turn on your power supply first, then push the power button on the 7600 to turn on the 7600.? Turn off your 7600 with the bower button on the 7600 first then turn off your 7600’s power supply. ? Also:? Once the PW1 is connected to the Mains AC power, the PW1 is always on and asleep.? The power button on the PW1 control panel turns on the PW1 ability to amplify the radio signals.? In addition with the Accessory cable connected between an Icom Radio and the PW1, then turning on the Icom Radio will place the PW1 in stand by and allow the Icom Radio to make antenna selections and allow the Icom Radio to operate “barefoot” through the PW1.? Caution with low serial number PW1s serial numbers below about # 1030 will not operate in standby.? [I don’t remember the actual serial number, check further if it is below 1050.] ? Here are some diagnostic steps to help see what is happening: With the PW1 off, disconnect the PW1 to 7600 accessory cable also disconnect the PW1 CIV cable. Turn on your computer first then turn on your IC-7600.? Check to see that you can control the 7600 with DXLabs.? If this does not work you need to fix your Commander 7600’s Configuration. ?Check the CIV speed settings and address for the 7600 primary port.? And while you are there check the secondary port for the PW1. ??In Commander’s Configuration you need to have se same speed and CIV address in both the primary and secondary Ports—see: ? If you can do the previous test, shut down the 7600 with the 7600 power button.? Connect the 7600 to PW1 accessory cable and CIV cable.? Leave the PW1 alone do not push the PW1 power ON button.? The PW1 will now be in standby mode.? Can you now change bands on the PW1 by changing bands from the 7600 and/or the DXLab applications? ? If the first or second test fails. You will need to resync your PW1 to your 7600 radio as described in the PW1 manual.? You need a direct PW1 to 7600 CIV connection to do this—do not use the computer CIV connections in this PW1 to 7600 Sync operation.? ? Until you can control the PW1 in standby you do not have a reliable CIV between your 7600 and PW1.? And you will not be able to reliably use DXLab and commander to control your PW1. ? 73, Dave, w6de ? From: [email protected]

Re: QSO Path in DX Atlas?
+ AA6YQ comments below
Craig, Dave, the request for an enhanced QSO Path in DX Atlas is of serious interest here. I would encourage an improvement at your own convenience (of course) if this is something you might look into. + When I couldn't locate documentation explaining how to draw wider lines on A DX Atlas world map, I consulted DX Atlas developer Alex VE3NEA. His response was that this capability is not currently available. I asked him to consider an enhancement. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |
Re: Change QSO in bulk-Another question
As usual, I originally went right past the APP_'s and just looked for eQSL & LOTW in the drop downs.? Then when you sent the String, I wanted to find a place to type it in.? Finally the light bulb brightened up and I looked for the APP_ strings under the drop down menu.? Duh!!! Sorry I am so dense, but I did find it and got it done.

I have tried changing the USB port that connects the CI-V interface of the IC-PW1 to the PC, or changing the interface cable. it seems that the IC-PW1 becomes controllable in more cases, but not 100% controllable.+ That should not be the case. Re: IC-PW1 configuration in DXLabCommander
Dave, AA6YQ
?
I have not yet received a response from ICOM, but I am beginning to understand the conditions when IC-PW1 becomes uncontrollable.
?
1, I have tried changing the USB port that connects the CI-V interface of the IC-PW1 to the PC, or changing the interface cable. it seems that the IC-PW1 becomes controllable in more cases, but not 100% controllable.
2, When IC-PW1 is powered off for a long time (for example, when it is powered on for the first time that day), DXLabCommander is unable to control IC-PW1 even if it is powered on. However, after that, when the power is turned on and off several times, the PW1 alert lights up and the IC-PW1 becomes controllable, and after that, the IC-PW1 remains controllable even if the power is turned on and off repeatedly. 3, Whether DXLabCommander can or cannot control IC-PW1 is determined when power is supplied to IC-PW1 by turning on the IC-7600 power supply, or when IC-PW1's POWER switch is turned on, in other words, when power for IC-PW1 control is turned on. 4, Once IC-PW1 is powered on, the power switch of IC-PW1 is turned on. 4, Once the IC-PW1 is in a controllable state and the power is turned on, it will remain so until the power is turned off. However, once the power is turned off, it is not known whether the IC-PW1 will be in a controllable state (PW1 alert lights up) the next time the power is turned on. 5, This phenomenon appears when DXLabCommander is used, but not when IC-7600 and IC-PW1 are directly connected. Also, I had previously connected IC-PW1 and SteppIR with IC-7600 and CI-V interface (improved version of CT-17) and IC-PW1 was controllable. ?
I wish I had a clue how to solve this problem, but this is what I can confirm now.

Re: SpotCollector Special Callsigns won't load
+ AA6YQ comments below
When I direct SpotCollector to load a special callsign file in .txt format, it appears to do so, showing that the file is being loaded, but the resulting list is empty. The file is in the same format I used on the computer with my previous DXLab installation, and the options are the same. There are no column headings (Callsign, Tag List, Expires), and I am unable to enter any text in the last row (the one with an * in the first column). + So that I can see what's going on, please attach your special callsign file to an email message, and send it to me via aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com 73, Dave, AA6YQ |
