I assume that some awards may involve working such temporary DOKs but

thanks for the info on the dok's do you or is there anyone else that can
help me/maybe others in getting similar info for other lists such as wab,
italian districts/counties, french dept etc.

What sort of information are you seeking, Joe? Unlike the DOK list, the
WAB, WAIP, and DDFM lists rarely change, and are already provided by
DXKeeper. To get more information about the awards supported by DXKeeper,
click on the hyperlinks in the Award column of

i already have all the info i need for the various jcc awards and most of
the info for russian oblasts. i am going through some 14k qsl cards at the
present time to get this kind of info entered so i can start chasing paper
for some of the awards out there.

To test the new WAIP support, I just did this with my stack of Italian
and Sardinian QSLs; I estimate that 80% of these cards specified a province
name or code.

73,

Dave, AA6YQ
the info needed is to give me the ability to reconcile all my qsl cards so that the proper info is entered in the award field for region/county etc. lots of times i have no way of know what region/county/district etc i have worked and have no way at present to reconcile my qsl card info against what dxkeeper expects to be put in that field. thanks joe kl7lf

Re: DOK references

The list of DOKs that DXKeeper presents is loaded on startup from the file

Award230.txt

in DXKeeper's Databases folder. You can carefully add or remove entries from
this list.

Koen ON7RK has been posting updated versions of this file in this Group's
Files area, and I've been including them in DXKeeper updates. However, if
ops are going to start maintaining custom versions of Award230.txt, then I
will stop including them in DXKeeper updates so that these updates will not
overwrite the customizations. That means that when Koen announces the
availability of a new version, it will up to each interested user to
download it into his or her Databases folder and either use it "as is" or
use it to update their customized version of the file.

To un-install DXKeeper, you would use the Windows Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs" applet -- but there is no reason to do that in your situation. To start over,
1. start DXKeeper

2. open the Config window's Log tab

3. note the filename shown in the "Log file" panel at the top

4. terminate DXKeeper

5. using Windows Explorer, delete the file you noted in step 3

6. start DXKeeper -- it will note that the specified log file does not exist; you can now direct DXKeeper to create an empty new log file, and begin again.

If you describe what you mean by "I have a mess" above, I'll be happy to give you a hand.

Now that it is possible to record DOKs in DXKeeper I have started going
through my old QSLs to enter the data.
The "record progress" option of course only details one QSOs for each DOK
but looking through the rules of various German awards I notice that some of
them require more than one QSO/QSL for each DOK.
Is it possible to filter the log in such a way as to display all QSOs with a
particular DOK or series of DOKs.

Yes. As a start, the expression
App_DXKeeper_DOK <> ''

will display all QSOs that specify a DOK (those are back-to-back single
quotes, not a double quote). To display all QSOs that specify the DOK A02,
use

App_DXKeeper_DOK = 'A02'

To display all QSOs that specify the DOK A02 or A03, use
(App_DXKeeper_DOK = 'A02') or (App_DXKeeper_DOK = 'A03')

To display all QSOs that specify a DOK beginning with the letter A, use
(App_DXKeeper_DOK like 'A*')

You might find this helpful:

Re: DXKeeper & DOKs

Hi Steve,

As i read at the DARC website you need 100 DOK's per Band.
So it's possible to make a script like the MultiWAS.txt wich is in the DXK script folder.

You get a report per band with the worked DOK's.

I had a long hiatus from 1991 to 2004. When I returned to the ham scene, I was saddened to learn of the passing of the Colvins. I yearn to win the lottery so my wife and I can do essentially what Lloyd and Iris did - while we're still young enough to do it!

Bought Jim Cain's book about YASME and Lloyd and Iris at Dayton this year. Boring at times, but fascinating at others.

Hi Dave,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond last night.

I checked, as I had done the script change mentioned in a previous email, and I wondered whether I had maybe mis-typed something.
That would have been odd, as it was working after doing that, but PC's can do funny things at times!

Anyway, after your email, I went to check, so fired up PF, and found that it was working! I had not done anything, so I can't explain why it should start working all of its' own accord, but as I said, they can do funny things!

Thanks for the help, though, and best 73
