Hi Don,

Never been to R and L but would like to check it out someday.? Interesting how much of their used equipment doesn't work correctly.? For 23cm R and L has?

Those seem pretty popular in the more practical antennas.? If you want to go higher performance (and higher cost) M2 and Directive Systems both make them.? I have had both the 2m and 70cm versions of the Diamond yagis (same as Comet) and they worked nicely for the size and price.? R and L used to sell a Jetstream version of 9913F low loss cable.? Would want that for 23cm unless you have hardline.? I use one of their runs on my dualband yagi.

I need to pay R&L a visit. I like about 90 minutes away. I also need to drop off
three Motorola R-2600 service monitors for alignment and one needing the input
dummy load repaired if possible. If not possible, then I have a parts rig for
the other two. The fellow who aligns these is also in Cincinnati, so I'll save
myself a trip.

Any suggestions on a 23 cm beam? I'll take a look at the dual bander you
suggested.

Donald (KX8K) -- Link your repeater to the East Coast Reflector to get some traffic. MUCH better than the Win System! See for more info, or drop me a note off list.

re: 33cm...there are a few repeaters here in SoCal on 902. I did a check last year and monitored them all for a full 28 days. There were 3 QSOs spread between 5 repeaters over the 4 weeks.

The 23cm machines are a little better, but not much.

The 70cm and 1.25m machines usually have 1 or 2 QSOs per day.

The 2m machines (all 40 of them!) are gathering dust.

The lone 6m machine hears pretty well, but the transmitter has been <5mw output for nearly a year now.

Go figure!

envision a telescopic antenna that is attached to the side of the radio, with
screws with an end that you can just use your fingers to detach the antenna so
that it's replaceable (they WILL get damaged by some of us, eventually), a
switch to switch between the telescopic antenna and a multiple band antenna for
144, 222, 440, 1296, and maybe 902 MHz. If you don't plan to use 6M, you could
detach the antenna or just leave it in the trunk of your car.

What goes on in the 902 MHz band? Is it one of those shared allocation bands?

Re: BaoFeng T26 programming

If they don't list the radio, they don't officially support it, but you can try
on their website for more information. They might also have an alpha or beta
version you can try.

We're just a peer to peer support group and don't have an official channel to
