Not a problem.
It's always best to quote part of the original message to give
everyone some context. What was confusing was that the subject line
was even different from the original poster's about the Bluetooth
programmer (which sounds like an interesting device).
You can quote part of the original message on the group site
by selecting text in the original message then clicking reply, and
that selected text only ends up in the reply.
You should be able to do that in your email interface or program but
how you do it may be different between providers or programs. I just
select text in mine (like it works in the group web interface) and
click reply in my email program and it quotes only what I selected.
(When using my phone, however, it's a lot more complicated and I often
just quote the entire message if it's not a long one or full of
replies. It's not easy to delete out parts of the previous post in my
Android email program.)
