I found a circuit for the UV5R charger that is based on a SC6038
controller. Looks like the charger base? that I have. SC6038 data
sheet? gives max input 18V, max current 1A but no spec for max
power dissipation. Not helpful. As it's a?SOP-8L chip, I guess the
Pmax is too low to run of > 10V input at the charge current
used.
If the charger base [the bit the radio sits in] will only take 10V
looks like I'll have to make a 12V lead for it.
50 years of junk, I should be able to find the bits!???Small order
buying from the USA is not practical in the uk- disproportionate
handling ransom ,tax etc.? And when the radio was free, my
Yorkshire logic says don't spend ??? on bits for it if you don't
have to..
