Hans Kuner, mid 1500's, Bretten

Hi Everyone,

Being relatively new to this site, I'd like to reach out to anyone that might be familiar with the Nussbaum, Baden, Bretten areas.? I'm looking for any additional information on my 13ggrandfather, Hans Kuner, born around the mid to late 1500's.? He was married to Zypora N., possibly Naeglin.? In my OSB book for Nusbaum, he is listed as being from Bretten.

Nancy

Welcome Nancy,

There are several pieces of information that would be of help. First, what was the family religion?? Then, what records do you have now?

The records for Bretten (4 miles away from that Nussbaum) appear to start in 1565 in 2 different Evangelische (Lutheran) churches.

There is a marriage record of Zipora, widow of Hans Kuener, to in 1599 in Bretten. See ? Attached is a copy of that record (LDS 1189883 pg 571 #22).

That means there might be a death record for Hans and in addition a lead to a marriage record that might give Zipora's father and home village and Hans' father and home village.

There is an entry in FamilySearch Family Tree for your couple. The original entry was by FamilySearch, but there were also entries by a Kurt Kastner <kk248@...>. See Fred
