Many of these scenes were taken by a railfan, based in Birmingham, Alabama in the 1930's and 1940's? He later wound up in Pennsylvania. Some also may be official photos from railroads and are marked as so.
These are part of a collection I bought over 20 years ago.

Many of the photos were processed by LOLLARS in Birmingham, Alabama, a photo processing shop, and the dates given are dates of photo were processed in 1937.
