Autery's pieces

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hey Autery,

Sounds really good, the editing is tight, and I dig the bumpers and stingers you have in there.

Did you compose some of the music beds in there as well?

Thanks for the info on the exciters and so forth, I will be experimenting with all that later on.

Hello Che,

?

Here are two links to finish projects:

?

1.

?

2.

?

My opinion¡¯s:

?

1.

Exciters enhance harmonics. Usually in the upper harmonics.

?

2.

Saturators replicate the harmonic distortion of tape or transformers from audio hardware.

?

3.

So in a nutshell, exciter plugins? is a digital term for a digital harmonic enhancer. Saturator plugins brings the sound of Analog hardware into the digital world. Hence the name tube or tape saturation etc.

?

Anyone could correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Autery

So would the harmonic saturation be the same as the built in exciter more or less?

Doing some research on harmonic saturation now, just wanted to ask if that was the same.

Also, would you care to post some of your own work on here? Would love to hear it.

Thanks,

Che

Hello Che,

?

Below are my answers as follow:

?

3.

Adding a bass instrument(playing complimentary? melody to the kick) inside the mix will give the rhythm a little more bounce.

So perhaps a fretless bass or low end brass instrument on top of what is already there to go along with the drums? Something like that?

?

Answer:

Yes, fretless bass or low end brass instrument will add the extra bounce.

?

4.

Some high frequencies saturation will add a little more excitement to the sound track.

By this, do you mean maybe looking at adding an EQ to bring up the highs?

?

?

Answer:

No, Unless the eq have a saturation over drive option for different bandwith. To my ears, the instruments need the harmonics in the upper register to shine.? You will need a harmonic saturation plugin for this.

?

Its like adding flavor (correct seasonings) to your cooking. Tape saturation or tube saturation. IF you have a coloring or colouring (harmonic, tube) eq plugin, then it could do the job.

?

Hope I am clear in my communication.

Nice work.

Note:

Hope what I am about to say wasn¡¯t already mention.

?

Here are my opinions:

?

1.

The drums are too loud.

?

2.

The drums is pan too much on one side (left side). It take away from the balance of the music because the left side is peaking around 7.00 and the right ?peaks around 0.5.? Try some gain (volume) staging and balance panning. Try keeping all low frequencies center. Since low frequencies drive the power of the music, keeping them in the center help balance your sound track.

Check this one out, right now I¡¯m using cellos for the bass line, but the feel is too somber, so I will try laying down a guitar track instead later on.

The drums I laid down a piece at a time, and did some quantizing. I played the piano live with no quantizing, trying to not make it sound so robotic.

?If you heard the track I posted over on the RWP list, this one has been changed a good bit.

Let me know what ya think, and please post your own stuff here.

I look forward to hearing it,

Che

Hello Che,

?

The first url promoting ¡°Autery Weekes production¡± is all Autery Weekes production.

?

The second url have sound tracks from already produced songs. Ex: PGCR radio and Vibes Fm radio drops have commercial release songs in them. I had nothing to do with those commercial song release production. Also in the Vibes Fm radio drop, there exist audio clips of live radio persons talking. I was given those audio clips ?and I added my flavor to them.

?

Beyond that, I create from scratch or cut and re-design sounds to have the Autery Weekes flavor.

?

Hope this help.
