Have you already started writing a memoir? Are you looking for just the right readers to help you take your work to the next level? This workshop is for anyone ready for rigorous, supportive group feedback. We will talk about how editors work and examine excerpts from published memoirs, giving you a chance to identify key components of memoir writing.?

There are hundreds of craft books that basically say similar things: avoid cliches, use original metaphors, show not tell. In this workshop, we'll explore ways to do that individually and in community. We'll also respond to and share some playful, generative writing prompts and?read short essays from Danez Smith, Cam Awkward Rich, and others about the power of our voices.?

If you're?struggling?to create a writing routine, become a member of our ?community with?author (and?former NaNoWriMo Director)?Grant Faulkner.

Every Monday and Wednesday night, participants?hop onto Zoom, receive some?inspiration from Grant, and dive?into writing.

Grant is offering a FREE ACCOUNTABILITY WRITE-IN on Wednesday, October 2nd?(NEXT WEEK!)?for writers who want to sample the program.?Contact us?to claim a spot.

During?the past seven years, our??has supported hundreds of novelists, poets, essayists, dramatists, memoirists, critics, scholars, and other creative types.

In our quiet?writing space, located on Shattuck and Cedar, we'll give you the support and accountability you need to push your book project forward.?

We're open from Sunday-Friday, 9am-6pm. At lunch we chat about our work. A few times a month we?meet with agents, editors, publishers, or published authors to discuss publishing opportunities and the writing life in general. Recent guests include literary agents Danielle Svetcov and Anna Ghosh, authors Shanthi Sekaran, Susan Kiyo Ito,?and Tomas Moniz, and editors Kyla Kupferstein (Calalloo), Evgeniya Dame (Threepenny Review?and?Joyland), and Ethan Nosowsky (Graywolf Press).??
