As you know, the multicultural
South African band of Sharon Katz & The Peace Train helped Nelson Mandela
end apartheid and have continued spreading their message of social justice through

Honoring South Africa¡¯s 25th
Anniversary, The Peace Train: Transcending Barriers tour features concerts,
film screenings and workshops across Africa, Mexico, Cuba and the USA.?Since the successful 2017 Bay Area events, Sharon Katz and The Peace Train team have partnered with organizations in both San Diego and Tijuana and have been conducting ongoing cross-border workshops and concerts.? A large group of us walked across the border in July 2018 and participated in a vibrant concert at the Tijuana Cultural Center.? It was truly a profound experience. 27 at 7:30 PM, the public is invited to a special evening at Park Day School, 360
42nd Street, Oakland. In addition to performances and a short film,
there will be a conversation about the Bay Area's involvement in The Peace Train¡¯s 2020
Transcending Barriers journey from the USA to Tijuana, Mexico.?
