Rhythmix Rising Seas?brings?Alameda's?waterfront to life with?performances of?global music, dance, and theater?that?blend?art and climate awareness, encouraging conversations on environmental issues through?community involvement.
Rising Seas 1?features?Batey Tamb¨®, an Oakland and San Francisco-based, women of color-led?ensemble?rooted in Afro-Indigenous Puerto Rican Bomba. Their mission is to create space for learning about the rich history of Bomba music and dance, developed by enslaved Africans and their descendants.?Audiences will also enjoy?interactive choreography?with KT Nelson?& dancers?and a?visit from the?¡°Climate Detective from the Future,¡± directed by Jeff Raz. It¡¯s a vibrant?celebration of culture, creativity, and climate awareness?for all ages.
