Nextion

I'm getting there and today, the mockup allowed me to cut a very accurate M10 x 1.0 thread including stops - very impressed.
One thing - is it easy to program the Nextion screen so that say, the direction arrows or the Metric / Inch boxes remain green when selected (or another colour)?
It's probably me but I find the difference between grey and black a little confusing.

The only other things that springs to mind is the ability to set the stops a little easier - the direction control takes ages to ram up and then becomes too fast too quickly - if that makes sense.
I'm not sure if that is easy to change....

I'll do a video in a day or so with photos....

You can "cheat", crank the carriage to where you want it, or close, and close the half nuts.? Take out the backlash by jogging in the direction you'll be cutting, then set the stop.? Then change the direction and run the lathe until it gets to (almost) where you want it and stop.? Jog the rest of the way to take out the backlash and set the other stop.? It takes a little practice.

The Nextion is "easy" to program, for some values of "easy".? You will have to get into the Nextion Editor and change settings.? It's been a while since I did anything with it.? I don't know what the current state of it is.

Thanks Jon,

Regarding the setting of the stops - that option should be fine.

The Nextion screen editior seems easy enough, however, I can't get the background or the text to remain the selected colour when pressed - it reverts back to the default. ie lets say I want to change the word 'metric' to red. When running debug it looks fine until I press the button and then it reverts back to white.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple....

Ah, I have worked out how to change the colour! What was confusing me was the mixture of Hex and Decimal for the colours in the 'touvh press event'
What is even more confusing, I see you can also set the colour using text - ie typing in 'RED'
I will now change these over and see how it works.

Not much of a change, but for me, I find it easier:
