Any interest in having a FILES folder for the group?

I am thinking of purchasing the next level of Group.io in order to have a files folder.
It used to be $20.00 per month.
The GitHub files would be copied here and then if anyone has custom files such as for the various size Nextion displays they
could post them in a ready access place.

There are other benefits to having a paid group, I am sure.

Ralph, a files section would be useful. I'm sure a few of us could 'chip in'.....

Let's us know the cost per member and we can decide. Thanks for all you do for the group.

The cost is $20.00 per month, $220.00 per year.
I can go for a year, this year.
If anyone wants to chip in rhulslander at gmail on PayPal.

I did it. We now have a Files folder and Photos. Could someone copy the GitHub files to the Files folder.
Jon has previously said he did not mind. Or post the URL and I will do it.
It's interesting all of the previously posted photos are copied to the Photos folder.?

I am about to head out to the garden and tons of other outside work so I will not be able to really explore what the new group has
available.

There is a database and possible a WiKi.

Guys, (and Gals) there is already a files folder in the group. With a free group, you get 1gb of free storage. That's split between files and photos. Group owner can allow photos in the files folder, but I don't think the reverse is possible. If you upgrade the group, along with the larger storage, you also get all the new rules. I don't know at what point they kick in, but IIRC there is now a per-member monthly charge in addition to the monthly or annual payments. Might want to look carefully at the current rules before you jump on upgrading the group.

Bill, that is what I "thought" but there were no Files or Photos folders before I upgraded from free.

I probably looked just after you did the upgrade, then. It takes them a bit to upgrade an account to the full storage capacity, IIRC. I'm sure things have slowed down a bit since the Yahoo groups crashed and burned, but I expect they stay pretty busy anyway.

When they're done, you should have, I think it's 20gb of storage, now. When I did my upgrades, it was 10GB. That's been over a years ago for the most recent upgrade.

How do I upload a file to the 'files' section? There does not seem to be a button for uploading or am I going blind? :)

Matt

There is a New/Upload link after I click on the Created and Updated links.
Once you click the New/Upload?link you can make a new folder to put your stuff?into.
You can also link to different upload sites and upload folders.

Strange?behaviour.

What do you want to upload?

Er, there is no New/Upload link that I can see. Is it something that you need to 'open up' for others to use?

I was going to upload a few photos and the Nextion 3.5" screen setup.

Matt

Here is the screen that I see (I am logged in to Groups.io) HTH

Yes that is what I saw also.

After I clicked on the???Created and Updated links? I saw the upload link.

Just bang around on the page until the Upload link shows up.

There should be a buttong to view like this on another group I belong to:

No matter what I do, this never appears.

Like I said bang around on the page until you see it.

I do not see anywhere that I need to give permission to upload files.

It's a button, about 1/6 of the width of your screen from the left edge. I've posted a photo in the files section that you can look at. I've got the button circled with a gray squiggle.
