Watch/iPhone communication issue
I have an iPhone XR and an AppleWatch 5 which have developed a communication problem with the Reminders app. ?They stopped responding to one another. ?If I use the Watch to create a new reminder it no longer appears on the iPhone and vice versa. ?This just started out of the blue. ?At the same time my Watch battery started running down much faster ?¡ª literally overnight. ?Suddenly it runs down in less than a day. ?Can the two changes be linked somehow?
?
I hope someone on the list who uses both Watch and iPhone has a suggestion. ?Rebooting doesn¡¯t fix the problem.
?
Also, can?the Watch battery be replaced? ?I know it¡¯s old, but I hope to hold off getting a new one since it does everything I need.

Try doing a soft reset on the watch by holding down the crown and the side button until?you see the apple logo. Also did you reboot both devices? Also, you haven't mentioned what version of OS is on your devices. I have a series 4 and it took me 3 reboots of the watch after the latest OS update, using the process I described in the previous paragraph, to get my watch to not need charging in the middle of the day. Not sure why as usually it's only one reboot.? ~Gijzette On Tue, Feb 20, 2024 at 10:01?AM Cathy <devittad2@...> wrote: I have an iPhone XR and an AppleWatch 5 which have developed a communication problem with the Reminders app.? ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMagic happened and both the Watch 5 and iPhone XR went back to normal behavior just like that! ?Setting new reminders on Watch now appear in the correct location on the iPhone and the Watch battery depletes at a normal rate. ?I have no idea why the glitch occurred or went away.??Both are updated to the latest OSs and have been since the updates came out. ?I did hard reboot both devices when the problem appeared but it didn¡¯t help. ?Then overnight the problem righted itself. ? Stuff like this makes me nuts. ?I need to understand WHY, and it¡¯s not possible. ?Argh! ? At least I don¡¯t have to get a new battery for my Watch. ?I checked a couple of do-it-yourself videos on You Tube and baby, it ain¡¯t easy! Thanks for your suggestions. ?May your devices behave themselves! CD "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." - Aldous Huxley |
