HF 30% off coupon

David Robertson

Hi all,

I got a HF 30% off coupon that is good thru Monday. It is a scan of a print coupon. I used it today at a Harbor Freight store in North Austin, TX. It scanned and gave the 30% discount on a micro mill/drill. They seemed to have no problem with it being a copy.

You can get it at the following web address:

The lady there also told me you can get rain checks on items and have the coupon attached to the rain check if your particular item is out of stock.

This is an in store coupon. Not an online coupon.

This could take the sting out of an 8x12 that is no longer on sale!!!

Austin, Tx. I live in Round Rock and thats the store I go to.
Good to know it works, I want the 8x12 lathe but the coupon says in
stock items only and that is a special order idem.
Not sure if they will take it on that.

Hi David,

THANKS - I didn't get this one.

As for the 8x12 - sorry, that lathe is not sold in the stores - only on-line or via a catalog purchase. Well, at least that is what the stores tell me and I checked all the ones in a 200+ radius of the NYC area. Do they sell it in the stores by you?

Again - THANKS!

At the harbor freight I went to I was able to special order the 8x12
at the store. They had this little stand with a few larger items in a
book and you just fill out a form and then ring it up at the cashier
like a regular item. Doing this I was able to use the 30% coupon on
the 8x12 lathe. They said it should take 7-10 days to arrive. I'm
looking forward to it. $385 + tax.

Confirmed, I just went and special ordered my 8x12 myself using the
30% coupon I printed out. It took about $165 off the price.

Thanks a bunch for the link!

Hi,

Most excellent - I just called my local HF store and they said NO, quite clearly and without hesitation. I was looking for the milling machine # 93885.

If you don't mind mentioning - which store let you make the purchase?

Take care,

The north store in Austin, Texas

The guy kinda looked at it weird so I told him, that someone I knew
came there and bought one no problem. He said on hold on and went to
talk to someone, he came back and rang it up no problem.
They get a commission off the extended service plan things so if you
mention that you want one then maybe they will work harder to make
sure it rings up. He however had no problem ringing it up using the
coupon I gave him.

If I were you and the store isn't too far I would go up there and
just hand them the coupon and the paper you have to fill out. If they
say anything mention that it is a store item and your buying it from
the store but its just not there because its a special order... If
that fails maybe the extended service may convince... Think its about
120 for 2 years or something like that. So that takes it back up to
the original sale price I think but you have the service...

No Idea if this will work but thats what I would do. Worth a shot.

Hi,

The stores over here are closed now but I'll do the research for the future.

I aksed if they carry the item (I was looking for a milling machine 93885) and if not would they special order it...? The responses (I tried two stores) paraphrased, the item is not in the computer, we don't carry it and we can't order it.

That said, HF is starting to advertise where they will ship items to stores for local pick up and maybe some of the more interesting items might be made available. I only wish my local stores were a bit more cooperative.

Take care and THANKS!

Ahh yes thats correct some items are web only, the stores have no way
to order... Actually the local stores can't order anything from what
im told other than special order items, they just have to wait to see
what they are getting in.

There is usually a little book that has the items they can order in
it, or just give them part numbers and they can look it up.
There are a number of things that I'm ordering right now that are web
only purchases.

Hi,

Yes, point well-taken. The issue here is that since the 8x12 lathe is also a catalog/website only item and it seems that a store took the orders... So, I am wondering what if the "service" will apply to other items or did by chance the store make an error and will refund the money?

I guess we will find out soon in the continuing saga of "Will HF actually fulfill the order...?"

Take care,
DBN

Ahh yes thats correct some items are web only, the stores have no way

im told other than special order items, they just have to wait to see
what they are getting in.

There is usually a little book that has the items they can order in
it, or just give them part numbers and they can look it up.
There are a number of things that I'm ordering right now that are web
only purchases.

Hi,

The stores over here are closed now but I'll do the research for
the future.

I aksed if they carry the item (I was looking for a milling
machine 93885) and if not would they special order it...? The
responses (I tried two stores) paraphrased, the item is not in the
computer, we don't carry it and we can't order it.

That said, HF is starting to advertise where they will ship items
to stores for local pick up and maybe some of the more interesting
items might be made available. I only wish my local stores were a
bit more cooperative.

Take care and THANKS!

The guy kinda looked at it weird so I told him, that someone I knew
came there and bought one no problem. He said on hold on and went
to
talk to someone, he came back and rang it up no problem.
They get a commission off the extended service plan things so if
you
mention that you want one then maybe they will work harder to make
sure it rings up. He however had no problem ringing it up using the
coupon I gave him.

If I were you and the store isn't too far I would go up there and
just hand them the coupon and the paper you have to fill out. If
they
say anything mention that it is a store item and your buying it
from
the store but its just not there because its a special order... If
that fails maybe the extended service may convince... Think its
about
120 for 2 years or something like that. So that takes it back up to
the original sale price I think but you have the service...

No Idea if this will work but thats what I would do. Worth a shot.

Hi David,

THANKS - I didn't get this one.

As for the 8x12 - sorry, that lathe is not sold in the stores -
only
on-line or via a catalog purchase. Well, at least that is what the
stores tell me and I checked all the ones in a 200+ radius of the
NYC
area. Do they sell it in the stores by you?

Again - THANKS!

Hi all,

a print coupon. I used it today at a Harbor Freight store in North
Austin, TX. It scanned and gave the 30% discount on a micro
mill/drill. They seemed to have no problem with it being a copy.

You can get it at the following web address:

The lady there also told me you can get rain checks on items and
have the coupon attached to the rain check if your particular
item
is
out of stock.

This is an in store coupon. Not an online coupon.

This could take the sting out of an 8x12 that is no longer on
sale!!!

Well I think there are 3 types of items.
Store items, Web only items, and special order items.
I think all items can be ordered off the web tho.

The store can only directly order "special order" items.
The 8x12 is a special order item. The 93885 you mentioned earlier may
be a web only item or a special order item. I don't know I didn't
notice it in the special order book, I wasn't looking for it tho.

I do know they did accept my special order with the coupon and all I
can do is hope it gets fulfilled.

Hey, I'm in Round Rock too.

I know of yet another of us in Austin someplace.

We may have enough people to hook up some time.

Any interest?

Yea that would be cool, wondering if there is a milling or lathe club

I'm really new to all this. Be a couple weeks before I get my lathe
in still.

I will send you a private email.
