LMS 4700 Mill- Finished

Hi grop

?

I have now finished my Z-lock project for my LMS 4700 Mill.

After advice from you I have done it in 2 ways.

?

First an idea from Mikes Workshop

Sitat: The original quill locking screw is the recessed M8 hex bolt at the bottom left of the headstock.
Considerable force must be used to lock the quill so a sturdy and long lever is required.

?

Yes, lot of power is needed for a total lock, but total lock is not daily necessary for me, so I just put in bolt.

My long ? ¡° key is always there for my LMS screws less Vise.( I have replaced the Allen bolt with an ordinary bolt.)

As you can see of the same picture, I have replaced the little Allen bolt that control the boring depth with a quicker system. (the Allen key is not there when you need it)

?

The second part of this Z-lock project was to lock the fine adjuster.

I made a 6mm hole from underneath, and a quick release key.
